NESN showed he was CLEARLY safe.

 

Watch the replay, youk holds the tag as abreu's body comes off the bag, between his foot and his hand. He initially looked like he was going to call him safe but called him out.

the tag came off well before his hand did. I initially thought the same thing until I looked for it. He was safe by a wide margin.

Yep the Sox never see any bad calls come their way :rolleyes:

 

Its not like this is a close game. You guys are up 9-3 and have the bases loaded again

The only angle on NESN that seems any good you can't tell, but from my vantage point the tag stayed on. His body clearly beat the throw, so the ump must have seen something afterward that made him call him out. Abreu's entire body came off the bag after he touched it, Youk kept the tag down and the ump called out on a late call.

 

NESN isn't talking about that aspect of it but I'm pretty sure that's what the ump saw.

One of the angles they showed on YES he really looked safe. I think it was just a bad call. :dunno:

Lets get OVER it......bad calls get made all the time.....at least once every other game.....until they start using "instant replay" like they do in the NFL....expect bad calls......on both sides,......get used to it!

The YES announcers said something about his hand and he might have to come out... :dunno:
