I, and someone else too I believe, was thinking that the Celts would trade this pick for a veteran... Considering the amount of talent in the draft this year, they should be able to grab an impact player. I don't know how much you'd be for it though. Who'd you be looking to grab if you could? Pau Gasol and some other effective dude to give Memphis two nice picks? I'm just throwing out ideas. What do you think?

If we draft a player...

Yi Jianlian if available!!!

 

He is the new NBA model. Height, shooting, driving, and match-up nightmare.

 

His biggest weakness is his weight at 230 he's going to be pushed around.

 

Dirk was approx. 230 when he was drafted. It took him a couple of year's, but now he is one of the top players in the NBA.

 

Of course the other option is to trade the pick for a vet. I like this idea only if we get a good center. KG or Jermaine O'Neil would be a good fit.

 

My proposed starting 5

 

C - K. Garnett (even though he's a PF) or J. O'Neil (trade w/Pacers for 5th pick)

PF - Al Jefferson

SF - Wally Z

SG - Paul Pierce

PG - D. West/Rondo

 

 

Notable Free Agents

Vince Carter

Andres Nocioni

Darko Milicic

Dee Brown

 

If we could sign any of these free agents along with making that trade for J. O'Neil we could be a much approved team next year. Of course Vince would be the best sign.

i kinda like this chinese guy, he plays like an NBA player. Athletic, kinda cocky and can dribble and move for a 7 footer. If he becomes more consistent on his 3pt shooting, he is somewhat like Dirk.

We should trade down and take someone like Hibbard. I don't know though, maybe we should just include the pick in a deal to get us a legitimate talent... I think if someone doesn't come in, Jermaine O'neal is someone I've heard, Ainge gets fired. Ainge is terrible. I didn't know Gasol was 26 before last night, that might not be a terrible idea.

Hibbert is going back to Georgetown.

 

I guess a positive is that the Celtics will probably suck again. They could be in position to draft O.J. Mayo, or Michael Beasley.

I've got to admit -- I loved seeing the Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies get the shaft. More-so the Celtics for the fans that were hoping that their team would lose so they had a better shot at getting one of the two. I feel bad for the ones that continued to cheer for their team to win, though.

 

One of the deepest drafts ever and my Nuggets don't even have a pick, though. Oh well.

I will say that for one, through out the entire season I was rooting for the Celtics to win. I am proud that I stood by my team.
