Downward spiral continues for Blue Jays... Halladay out

Blue Jays placed RHP Roy Halladay on the 15-day disabled list with acute appendicitis.

 

He wasn't immediately replaced on the roster. Ty Taubenheim could be a possibility to pitch in middle relief until the Jays need a fifth starter. The Jays are estimating Halladay's absence at 4-6 weeks, but it's possible to make it back in three and Curt Schilling barely missed two weeks after his operation in 2003. Given his history, it'd be no surprise if Halladay tried to rush back.
