Why wouldn't I want Wake? I would want Wake, but I think his season so far has been an anomoly. He's not suddenly a cy young pitcher after, what 13 years of not being one. He's a big gamer, he's an innings eater, he's healthy. But he comes with a crappy catcher (who happens to be very good with Wake) and the sox are going to need a legitimate replacement for Varitek sooner than later. I think they will be looking for flexibility. If that means Wake goes to the pen for the inevitable spot start, long relief, then fine. I think he'll do just about anything to be part of the team if need-be.
