Great pick up for the Pats. I like it alot. We over payed for Welker and under paid for Moss, so were even looking at it from that point. But both should be big contributors next season.

Another thing I like is that we got SF first round pick next year. Guys no BS I was talking with a buddy the other day and said that SF looks like last yrs Cardinals. There young and up and coming, there starting to get some expectations and are due for a bit of a let down season, a regression of sorts. Nothing huge tho, but its not too far out of the relm of possibility that SF gets a top 10-15 pick next year, and that would be so nice to be drafting that low. I for one hope they go 2-14 or 3-13 so we get the #1 pick, hahahahaha....

Will you all agree with me that, at the very least, the arrow is no longer pointing up on Moss?

I mean, age 30 is when most of the skill position players (WR, RB, DB, LB ) reach their apex in terms of productiviity. They may stay there and plateau for a year or two, but most football experts agree that when a skill position player starts turns 32 or 33, the physical ability starts to decline due to wear and tear.

SF has a defense and a O-line. They also have a developing quarterback, and should really be quite good.

I think the 49ers will be a playoff team this year.

I think Randy Moss is in his prime, most people agree that when you hit age 28 your headed into your prime years and that lasts till about 32-33 years of age. Moss is 30, Brady is 30. Look out.

Ya, all those people who think Moss is past his prime and is a wash out is just f***in crazy. He's 30. I don't blame him for his problems in Oakland, it's a pathetic franchise right now. I don't know how anybody could honestly care about playing on a s***** team like that. Moss wants to win, he always has. With such a great opportunity to win it all this year, watch out, he's going to do some increadible things.

God this team is f***ing loaded.

this is the same guy who walked off the field with time on the clock in a playoff game in minnesota

the same guy who refused to block on running plays pretty much his entire career

the man who loved art shell before he tanked on him

the man who loved mike tice before he quit on him

the man who publically screamed at his qb on national tv on the sidelines

the man who had less than 500 yds last year

hes a talent who is a f***ing jerk of monstrous proportions

will he change this year??

he will probably help big time and the risk here is limited

but before we start raising the banners dont forget they annoint the yankees world champs every november after they sign somebody big and theyre 0-century after being favored every single year since 01

Please don't compare baseball preseason to football preseason, they have nothing in common.

Even if we have to cut Moss, we still are the favorites. Again, We are the favorites WITHOUT Moss. With a prime, behaving Moss, we are extreme favorites.

I think with Randy Moss added to the roster you make Tom Brady very dangerous! This was a great steal for the whole team just watch out because Tom will spread the ball around to all of his receivers! Patriots SB champs!

Not true. We didn't even make the playoffs in 2002.

As defending SB champs...so how could you be thought of as an underdog?

Jesus... they are good. Really the only thing that can stop them would be a Brady injury or Moss blowing up the team. I really hate them.

Like my hate of the Yankees, you know they're good, but you hate them!

Moss blowing up the team is so doubtful. A. He really wants to be here. Its all about the super bowl now ( and lets face it, who else can guarentee super bowl but the pats?) and B. This is one of the strongest club houses in the game, you think one guy can really disrupt all that? Maybe he could alienate himself and find his way off the team, but i highly doubt he could blow up the team.

Nobody can guarantee Super Bowl.

The Patriots can guarentee the Super Bowl like the Lakers could when they signed Karl Malone and Gary Payton or the Avalanche could when they signed Teemu Selanne and Paul Kariya. What you got is a headcase WR who was headcase when he was on a Super Bowl caliber team in Minnesota and who's fallen victim to nagging injuries and, truth be told, isn't the same WR he was four yeas ago.

Well, obviously you're right. However, it's not Randy Moss' signing that makes me and many otehrs supremely confident in this team. It's the total overhaul we gave the WR corps all the while signing Adalius Thomas and getting a solid draft pick in Merriweather. That along with the return of Rodney Harrison and Eugene Wilson will make this team much better than the AFC Championship team of last year.

Moreover, besides what comes with Tom Brady, this has been a defensive team throughout it's dynasty, and we have won games with our clever defensive schemes. However, this year we have a defense to contend with the Ravens and an offense to contend with the Colts, not to mention having a solid special teams unit. It just seems that this etam ahs no weaknesses and as of now, I can't think of any team in the league who can come close to us in terms of balance and overall strength.

the yankees have had a world series winner on paper for the last 7 years

how many they win??

i remember shula in miami had 15?? 1st round pix on his team and didnt get out of the 1st round of the playoffs

this is why they play the games

randy moss is a f***ing jerk, this is indisputable

not once has he mentioned ""team"' since we got him

its all about ""watch me"" ""watch randy"" I I I I I ME ME ME ME

i think we got a good deal out of oakland and i think the risk is limited but if randy moss was all that then oakland wouldve kept him around considering they signed a qb with the 1st pick of the draft

He was a field goal away from going to the Super Bowl in '98, and really seems to want to be in New England. If he wants to play, he'll play. As long as he doesn't get all pissy, the Pats should have a damn good year, with a big contribution from Moss.

Edit- But yes, guaranteed a Super Bowl? Shut up. That's stupid.

Yeah Moss maybe a dickhead, but so isn't T.O. Neither of them have won a super bowl! But I really have to give Moss the benefit of the doubt here! He really wants to be on this team, the reason Oakland dumped him off was I feel because of the contract, that and they are rebuilding that franchise. You would think rebuilding around Moss is a good idea, but you need a solid QB for a good franchise! The raiders are a long way off from winning and Super Bowls and Moss knew that!
