looks like the Raiders will make Jamarcus Russell the first pick in this years draft a little after 12 today.

as for the pats, alot of people have been saying that they probably wont use both of there first round picks and will likely trade one to get some picks for next years draft

The Detroit spot is funny to consider now. Millen will catch all sorts of crap if he picks his 4th WR in the past 5 1st rounds, but CJ is the better than anyone he's selected thus far. What to do, what to do?

EDIT: And the best talent in the draft.

Pats reportedely have offered the Raiders a day 2 pick for Randy Moss. If Moss gets dealt it seems like the Pats are the best suitors for him since thats were he wants to go.

Cleveland next. They could use all three of Quinn, Peterson, or Thomas. Which way do they go?

I think they need to take Quinn. They desperately need a QB to compliment Winslow and Edwards. They can have another restructuring season next year while Quinn learns the pro game and come into next draft looking for more immediate impact from OT or RB. Just my $0.02.

Thomas goes 3rd. That's still a good pick. And, of course, it sets up John Gruden to draft Brady Quinn when they already have Simms, Garcia, and Plummer under contract. Hilarity ensues, a la Millen, if he does that. I'm listening to WDAE, the Tampa sports talk station online, and the Big Dog, Steve Duemig, who rips Gruden daily, is already setting the stage. Go to 620wdae.com and listen to the stream if you want to hear him rant if Gruden takes Quinn.

Adams goes 4th. Solid pick, but I think the Bucs missed what they needed most by one pick. Thomas would have helped them a lot.

Levi Brown goes 5th.

The 'Skins don't pick again until the 5th round. They don't need Quinn or Peterson. Landry would help, but 6 seems early for him. They should move down. And, Snyder sucks.

Looks like they are going to go with Landry. He's a good ball player, but I think they need to get more out of the draft. It would surprise me if he doesn't get traded later today.

I don't know, football isn't like baseball where you just draft the most talented player. He certainly fits for them and fills a need.

I'm shocked Quinn slipped to the 'Fins, who must be doing backflips.

EDIT: WHOA! Ginn? I don't see it.

I think the second best wide receiver in this draft if Dwayne Jarrett. I think he is going to be very very good. I hope the Pats take him, as I expect he will be there since everyone seems to be down on him. This is after they take Reggie Nelson, hopefully.

the worry is that Jarrett is another Mike Williams and his inability to separate will make him a possession/3rd wideout. I saw Jarrett single handedly take down ND, so I dont think they are right.

Really. That graphic about the next 5 picks not needing to draft QB is right on. Quinn will go to decent team and won't be pressed to do it all next year. That is an interesting story to this draft, and if it's the Jets, they are on the way up and should make the move if they can.

I agree. Trade a 1st and a 3rd and move up to 14th or so.

Dolphins... What a bunch of ass wipes running that organization, Quinn fell in there lap and they took Ginn... What a joke, glad I'm a Pats fan LOL
