Pettitte was clearly done in the 6th inning. Everyone was hitting ropes in the 6th and it continued into the 7th. Torre sacrificed any chance of winning the game by staying with him too long.

Holliday's a monster.

I don't know, but a lot of them have.

Well, there was Holliday's HR which was with two outs after Taveras' fielders choice and Matsui's pop out to second. Then Taveras' hit this inning, and Kaz's triple, and then Holliday's hit... so yeah, clutch hitting. Plus Helton's run would've, obviously, been with two outs.

You should do the "THUUUUUH YANKEEEEES LOOOOOSE!" honors tonight should the score hold. It would feel great and you know it :D

Especially when you type "10 game lead!" right after it.

Great night to be a Sox AND Rockies fan.

Life is good. Lets hope the O's lose and make my night even better!

An O's win helps the Rocks, atleast.

Interesting to note that the last time the Yankees came to Coors Field in 2002 they scored 44 runs. Through two games they have 2. I'm pretty sure the humidor was in use in 2002, also.

Joe Torre needs to be fired. Ouch. My last statement before I went to bed was Pettitte was cooked. Come to find out, the idiot POS manager leaves him in to get tabbed for 4 runs? Are you f***ing kidding me Joe? What a douche.

Its not like you have a lot of bullpen options outside of Mo and Bruney. Pettitte is the ace right now and they want the ace to get it done... or they're done. I highly doubt Joe gets in trouble for that move.

Either way, back to ten back, the magic number for you guys is five going into the all-star break. If its bigger than that, big advantage sox. If its bigger than ten, its over.

The Yankees are a mess right now. Sure they had some success for awhile, but with the lead the Sox built it is going to have to be a total meltdown for them to blow it. I know it was concerning to see the Yankees cut off seven games, but that was their hottest stretch of the season and it was coupled with the fact that the Sox hit their first skid of the season. For the Yankees to have any chance of making this a race the sox would probably have to play like .450 ball for a month with the Yankees playing .650 ball. With the Sox pitching depth and offense that is catching on fire this just doesn't seem likely.

On another note, it will be very interesting to see how Clemens fairs aganist the AL. So far he has pitched against a weak hitting Pirates team and a Mets team that is in a horrible offensive slump. I still say Clemens ERA will be around 4.50 before it is all said and done.

Normally I would agree with the decision, but like jacks said Pettitte was cooked the inning before he gave up the 4 runs. I know his pitch count was low but he lost the K zone and was giving up some big hits, and only got bailed out by a missed call at home plate.
