Guardians move series against Angels to Milwaukee

 

CLEVELAND (AP) -- After snow wiped out Cleveland's series against Seattle for the fourth day in a row Monday, the Guardians moved their next series against the Los Angeles Angels to Milwaukee's Miller Park.

 

The teams will play a three-game series beginning Tuesday in a ballpark that has a retractable roof, unlike Jacobs Field. The opener and Wednesday's game will be played at 7:05 p.m. EDT, with Thursday's scheduled for 1:05 p.m.

 

The Guardians, who had their home opener last Friday called after four innings, will try to get their first game at Jacobs Field in on Friday when they are slated to open a three-game set against the Chicago White Sox.

 

While snow stopped falling Monday, the grounds crew was unable to get the surface in shape after three days of snow. Faced with a forecast for sleeting rain, snow flurries and a projected high of 34 degrees, the Guardians postponed their rescheduled doubleheader against the Mariners.

Remeber when the beam fell at Yankee Stadium and they were forced to play the Angels at Shea? Was that ever weird. I think Strawberry homered and the apple only came halfway up.

In 2004 the Marlins played host to the Expos in the White Sox stadium due to hurricanes.

Interestingly enough, The Guardians made Milwaukee County Stadium their home for game shots in the movie "Major League". And yeah, the Marlins "hosting" the Expos at Comiskey a few years back was the last time something like this happened.

This is crazy. The snow part of it. Its baseball season, and entire series are being called because of snow.

I think they played the majority of their "home games" at the stadium where the LSU football team plays.

I hate to be nitpicky, but it's called US Cellular Field now. When I think of Comiskey Park, I think of my White Sox' old stadium, which is now a parking lot.
