  1. Awesome! I say stop worrying about pitch counts for once. Don't throw a complete game every day, but if the guy has 98 pitches, let him throw another once and a while
  2. When Curt throws between 102-103 pitches, we win. Yipee! Offense and pitching= victory.
  3. Im always watching the standings. Thats what I do.
  4. Beckett has looked sharp. The bats exploded. Hello half a game out.
  5. This is crazy. The snow part of it. Its baseball season, and entire series are being called because of snow.
  6. ::Vomits out of the window::,
  7. Maybe this will get him going... You never know. Nothing like fighting for your job.
  8. I like how the scientist/pitcher explains that it really does nothing. It just fools the batter by making it look like every other pitch imaginable and then being its own thing. It isn't a variation on something else, well everything is if you think about it, but realistically, it's its own pitch
  9. I think people are upset by strikeouts because they'd rather see the ball put in play. It gives them reassurance that the person isn't completely missing the ball. I agree, people like Adam Dunn shouldn't be downgraded talent wise because they strike out a lot, but if you miss the ball, you aren't even giving the play a chance to begin. It is a little more negative than a play being made on you.
  10. ^That is reason enough for the sox not to move it, ESPN won't be very happy with them and the whole Dice-K Mania debut thing will get thrown off.
  11. You know, as much as this is annoying, it really isn't that bad of a problem to have. Because the sox have a log jam, someone is going to have to go, and we can use one of them for trade bait for some relievers. If ellsbury lives up to his potential, then there is no need for a long term contract with hunter, jones, or ichiro. However, the x factor is manny. If manny sticks around, then we can have the 08 outfield be Manny, Ellsbury, Drew. My prediction is that willy mo or crisp will be gone by the trade deadline. However, they are going to need to figure out center for this year, and Crisp is going to have to start HITTING!
  12. Victory! Paps looked great at the end there.
  13. Superb performance so far by Schilling. Since the first inning, he has been great.
  14. Ortiz!!!! Big shot! I can watch the Sopranos (sorry sox, its one night with the comfort of knowing we lead.
  15. A few minutes to early jackson. Damn changeups! Throw the heat Curt!!!!!!!
  16. Lugo grounds out to start the game. ORTIZ!!!!! He's back people!
  17. This is old, but Mueller was the man. His walk off homer against Mariano was a shining moment that summer of 04.
  18. I'm frustrated too man. It doesn't look like they are even trying anymore. If they are tanking, I personally think that is a stupid move. Who the hell knows if a good pick will result in a franchise player? Especially with our luck. Two words, Ryan Leaf. Its another sport, but a classic example. The B's will be back, give 'em a chance. edit- Thought I'd add I looked at your post without knowing the date, so I'd mention that the Bruins still are annoying the hell out of me. They can win, or lose, and they will still annoy me this year. Ugh.
  19. That's the concern, if they are down, which they are, and then have to battle to get back into it, by July they could be burnt out. And don't worry about Papi, he'll be good. We HAVE to figure out the 5th starter situation. Trade, minors, something, anything!
  20. Hehe..... After reading that thread today, the inside joke is now clear. Seriously: I agree with the original poster, Manny from the right I have to say Griffey from the left. If you watch old videos of him in Seattle basically golfing balls 500 yards, you will notice that there is no swing quite like his.
