Cubs closing in Zambrano extension

At least I know he wont be a Yankee come next year. The deal is said to be a 5 year deal worth over $80 million. Now this is a guy taking a pay cut for his hometown team. He couldve easily gotten 6 years or more/and inching toward the $150 million mark. Let alone he could be able to go to a team that actually has a chance of making the playoffs

I don't see what's funny. The Cubs have a very good shot at going to the playoffs this year and well into the future. They have a core of Zambrano, Hill, Lee, Ramirez, Soriano, and Barret with emerging talent like Ryan Theriot, Felix Pie. Not to mention, they just got rid of what I thought was their biggest obstacle, Dusty Baker.
