Orioles acquired catcher Alberto Castillo from the Red Sox for outfielder Cory Keylor.

The Red Sox have George Kottaras and Kevin Cash to catch in Triple-A, so Castillo was expendable. There's no real difference between Castillo and Paul Bako, except that Bako has a guaranteed deal and Castillo is on a minor league contract. As a result, Castillo figures to open the season in Triple-A.

How incredibly stupid do the Orioles have to be to trade their minor league player of the year for a No. 3 catcher? Well, not very. The 27-year-old Keylor received the honor for hitting .294/.365/.415 with 10 homers and six steals for Double-A Bowie last season. The Red Sox shouldn't even have room for him in their Triple-A outfield with David Murphy, Brandon Moss and Alex Ochoa set to occupy spots.

Good to know we have outfield depth in case someone goes down.

Outfield Depth aren't even the words for it... we have so many Outfielders... it's a good trade because they traded a a guy who I doubt would have seen the Majors for a younger talent, but Keylor doesnt sound like a prospect, so this really sounds like a useless trade to me IMO
