Nothing wrong with a little pot, and yes jamaica is very cool, but lets keep it baseball. Anyone wants to hear some pot stories, feel free to use the PM system. The forums are for baseball, though.

A half pound in a week ain't happening by the way...

I like that Ksushi, "you guys shouldn't be talking about s*** like this. By the way, you're lying." nice parting shot. classic.

Is there anything left to discuss about Beckett? I asked the general question "why did they tweak his motion?" and I think its relevant to ask if it was "they" who did it, or if it was a choice he made.

I also think that his stuff is just too damn good to do what he did last year. Lots of HORRIBLE pitchers have done better than Beckett did last year. Didn't we have John Burkett pitching for us a few years ago? If Kenny Rogers and his "stuff" is able to be as dominant as he is at his age, there is no reason Josh Beckett can't be turned into a useful pitcher soon.

We have left no stone unturned, no player unn scrutinized, no weed unsmoked... We need the season to start....

damn, some of these guys are a little uptight about the mention of weed...and perhaps a little too literal concerning the quantity smokeable.

relax, a momentary diversion from baseball doesn't mean the whole forum is going down the tubes. I've seen much worse than this...just visit the Hardaway thread for a sample of how distasteful some individuals can be.

Oh god how true! The point that they suck was brought up in "My Name is Earl" Thursday night.

I heard Beckett was in Daytona w/ Timlin and Wake when Henry announced the Roush deal......

Looks like Josh might be bringing more change-ups this year.

In Beckett's opinion, it was always his changeup which was his priority when setting up hitters. The statistics bear that out, with the righty throwing the pitch 13 percent of the time before he came to Boston. Despite Beckett throwing it faster than most traditional changeups (his ranges between 81 and 87 mph), hitters only managed a .198 batting average against the offspeed offering, while chasing (swinging at a pitch out of the strike zone) an impressive 34 percent of the time.

This is good to hear. Perhaps this might have something to do with Wallace being shown the door.

I agree. Wallace f***ed up Hanson's motion, took him away from that nasty slider, and the poor kid looked lost. I wouldn't be suprised - as example1 and others have alluded to - if Wallace was under instruction to get 200 innings out of Josh last year, and results be damned. If he brings back the change and can throw the curve without blistering up, he's going to get back into very good form. Hell, even if he brings back the change and can't quite get a handle on the curve, he'll be better - and better than 16 wins and a 5 ERA is pretty good in my book.

phish does suk

You guys have SO much to contribute here, huh? Let's talk about Phish (a band that is no longer together)! Let's talk about them in the present tense, while using juvenile spellings (suk?) and bandwagonism.

How about you stick to the topic.

careful chief, that might be close to a bannable offense. Slander of phish is punishable by... i dont know... ill think of something.

Anyone here Becketts short interview at ST? It was on TV but my mom blabbed through it and I couldn't hear a thing. Anyone see it? Anything cool?

And hey, phish is getting back together, example, and they're always relevant... as long as no one bashes. I agree try to keep it baseball, but really especially now staying strictly to the topic just ain't gonna happen. When we have a heated thread going, stray talk isn't appreciated, but this time of year there really isn't any such thing.

Yo didn't Burkett win like his first 8 decisions in 02?

the "juvenile" spellings are often used because someone is posting from work and their IT Security looks for the normal spelling of potentially vulgar words.

oh, and FUK off.

just kidding.

No, sir. However, your question sheds quite a bit of light on on why your perspective is what it is, as you clearly don't get the point...if one types F UCK or SUCK at work, one might get in trouble, so one might type SUK so IT doesn't flag the post. Still confused? Right, I'm not surprised.

Now finish up that grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup your Mom made for you so you can get back to jerkin' off to the pics in National Graphic's feature on Tanzania.

jackass.

I just can't think of the type of place you must work that wouldn't allow you to use the word 'suck' in terms of "I sucked the milk through the straw" or "the copy machine sucked the such and such into the blah blah."

Perhaps you shouldn't be wasting your time at work posting innane replies to red sox posts, regardless of what words you use. I imagine your bosses would be pretty disappointed if they saw the product of your 'valuable' time in the form of the posts that you put forth. (the chicken noodle soup comment, and bringing my mom into it for instance... really classy).
