hello every one is this great or what ?? this really gets me excited

In a related development, the Sox said yesterday they were still hoping to lure Roger Clemens back to Boston for one last go-round. A source close to Clemens said the two sides had agreed on the money, and the only thing standing in the way of a deal is Clemens’ insistence that he get treated the same as Matsuzaka.

“He wants a personal pitcher, too,” said the source. “He doesn’t feel like pitching either. But Roger has given this a lot of thought and he’s decided that the Sox are the only choice. Who else can get him on Augusta?”

what would the sox really be getting if Clemens comes back...

Im not saying I dont wanna see him back in Boston BUT...

hell get about $20 mill(or more maybe)

hell pitch for half a season maaaaaybe...

and where is he going to fit in the rotation?

sure, hell bring merch prices up and such but hes $20 mill for half a season, and we have a full rotation(I repeated myself)... I dont really see the big reason for bring Clemens back to Boston...

Ya I no I no, it would be a fairytale ending to one of the best careers around but we dont even no if he can still pitch the same way or if hell be in shape...

(I also know it would keep him out of NY and thats probably the biggest things)

i just read that article, most of it is not true and sarcastic.

he certainly fits better into the yankees situation than he does in the sox rotation. If they are serious about Paps being in the rotation, then getting Clemens is useless and puts them further past the cap.

He won't get $20 million for a half season...I think this is a common misconception. He'll get what EQUALS $20 million for a full season, meaning, he'll get $10 million for a half season. It's pro-rated.

Meaning the Yankees need him more than the Red Sox do.

If he comes, he's an improvement over Wakefield. If he comes, it gives the Sox flexibility to put Papelbon back in the bullpen.

How does Papelbon being in the rotation have any correlation to getting Clemens?

Paps in the bullpen and Clemens in the rotation would make that team real tough.

Sooooo...how does Papelbon and Clemens in the same rotation look?

i hate the yankees but not that guy .. so does anyone think we can still get anything from clemet long term , i know he wont be back till after allstar break but dont you think if he knows hes healthy and not lots of pressure he might just sucseed lil bit ???

Why would the pressure go away?

And no I do not.

pretty good' date=' but it doesnt solve the problem and doesnt do anything for your playoff rotation.[/quote']

Papelbon would slide into an Arroyo circa 2004 role if we made the playoffs.

What about your playoff rotation?
