durant is 18-19??

that lack of strength hasnt stopped him from hanging 35 every time his team needs it

he also had 10 boards 6 blocks and 4 steals and was shooting with at least 4 hands in his face all day

texas was burnt out down the stretch and their point guard, augsustin?? was exposed badly by kansas...texas will be a factor in the tourney i feel

oden on the other hand didnt take a shot in the 1st half

in the 2nd half he took over

his #s werent all that impressive but if you watched him play his game within ohio states game plan he was near flawless

i didnt think osu had the peremiter game to play till the final 4 but mike conley jr has really stepped up his game and some of the other slashers may produce enuff to get them to the 4

There's no doubt Durant is impressive. All I'm saying is I think Oden has the more NBA-ready physique.

definetly agreed thought the durant will play small frwd and oden center

im not sure you want any more beef on durant

it may only slow him down at this point

Durant is being compared to McGrady. BTW' date=' Durant is NASTY. So is Oden. If the C's get the 1st pick, they will have one hell of a decision to make.[/quote']

ya and on that same website Gerald Green was compared to McGrady

Yeah, those comparisons are more about who their game resembles and not so much how good they'll be.

celts got outscored 30-13 in the 4th

nice

At least they finally got the memo that they need to lose more games instead of trying to pull into 3rd to worst record territory. Oden/Durant would be awesome for the franchise.

The celtics have to pick Oden. They have pierce and Green and Wally. They have no center at all. A lineup with West, Green, Pierce, Jefferson, Oden with Rondo, Perk and Wally off the bench would be a 45+ win team next season. If Pierce hadn't gone down with an injury they would have won about 35-40 games this season. I think they were 10-13 when he went down, and they are about .500 since he returned. If Ainge picks Durant and Oden is left on the board it will be a huge mistake.

I agree with you there MannyHOF. Oden is the guy with the biggest upside because not only could be be an absolute offensive force in the middle, he is already a dirty defensive presence and an agile, strong big man.

defense

defense will keep you in games

everyone laffed at me when i said getting oden would make us a 50 win team next year

well

looking at the miserable eastern conference and our division to be specific it isnt so far fetched after all.

hoop is 1 game where 1 man can make a huge difference

look at pierce and our record when hes in there

But the point is, even the Cavaliers missed the playoffs when they picked up Lebron. And they had Ilgauskus (an All-Star) and Carlos Boozer down low. And Oden's done nothing to suggest he'll be anywhere near as good as Lebron, Carmelo, and D-Wade were in their rookie seasons.

Oden is going to come into the league as one of the better defensive players from day 1. He's not going to score like them because he's not a G/F. He will have a huge difference on both ends of the floor though.

He's not particularly dominant at the college level though, where he already has a huge size advantage over just about everybody.

I don't think he's any better of a defensive player than Emeka Okafor was in college.

He is bigger than Emeka and much stronger. And I love Emeka Okafor for bringing a championship to CT.

Of course he is. He won't be bigger than the NBA players, though. I think Emeka was just as much of a force defensively in college as Oden. More BPG and just as many shots altered. Same effect. I don't think size is everything -- but when size is a big part of why you're as good as you are, losing that advantage will be huge.
