Anyone see clips of LT speaking to the press? He was choking back while saying "and when we see New England imitating Shawn Merriman's lights out dance, that is just disrespectful"

Ah Im playing the world's smallest violin for you

LT tells no lies.

I disagree. LT says the Patriots were disrespectful with their celebrations on the Chargers logo upon winning, I say it was ritchous. All of the Chargers and San Diego Media, let alone most of the rest of the world, gave the Patriots no chance. Newspapers had the nerve to comfort LT saying, "Don't worry LT, you'll be in the Superbowl, it's in the cards." Players and media were already planning for the trip to the AFC championship game, even the Superbowl. Haven't teams learned not to expect such an automatic win? Remember those 2001 Steelers who made their Superbowl hotel reservations and lost to the Pats in the Championship game? Expecting an automatic win is the most disrespectful thing you can do to your opponent and is usually something that will piss the opponents off so much that they win. Well, it happened again. And sorry LT, but if you don't like being taunted a bit, then either get people to stop disrespecting underdogs or win when you say you will. I loved the end of the game celebration it was a nice jab to all those who said we had no chance. Were the better team moving on while the "automatic Superbowl" Chargers are going home.

Merriman did his little ditty after a 1st quarter non-sack. When a player dances for a non-play and his team loses, he deserves whatever mocking comes his way, IMO.

did shawn merriman even play this weekend??

another big game

another fraud exposed for the nation

i watched from 4pm to730 to the constant and never ending ballwashing of the mighty 14-2 sandiego chargers

we did get 5 minutes of pats coverage when the game finally ended

f*** ld

if he showed that much heart on the field as he did when the game ended they may not have gone 3 and out to give the ball back to the patriots to close the deal

f*** him too

marty

god bless ya

i knew you had it in you

But really' date=' who saw LT at the end of the game? I didn't expect him to be that classless. Refusing to shake hands...what an *******.[/quote']

you may find yourself in traction next time

Well I knew that this was going to happen already, since I said that the Chargers would lose, but i have one question on something I didn't understand.

On 4th down, brady fumbled and the Pats recoverd, but it was a turnover on downs anyways, but then after the play was dead, there was an unsportsmanlike conduct on the Chargers guy, and the Pats got a 1st down. Since it was the end of a 4th down play, and the play was dead and it was Chargers ball, shouldn't that have made it like 1st and 25 for the chargers...or something that still left the Chargers with the ball?

Ted, if you REALLY think that the Chargers took the Pats lightly I have a bridge to sell you.

The PRESS created that sentiment, but I assure you that the players and the coaching staff, regardless of what was said or what the press took out of context to create a story, did not. Confidence is just confidence, but the media likes to view that as cockiness.

Think the Colts will underestimate the Pats? No, but I guarantee ya there will be an article or two that focuses on something a COlt said and it'll be twisted into a "they don't respect us" scenario. I don't buy into that s*** at all.

My point is that you never give an underdog material to use to ignite a fire. The chargers gave the Patriots a little extra drive by what the team and writers said about the Patriots and their chances. I agree that the Chargers lost confidence, but they were pretty cocky out there when they were winning and Marty let them fall apart as Brady did what he does best, win.

LT pissed me off by what he said about us before and after the game. In his statement he even said "It was upsetting to see because they won three Super Bowls," Merriman said, according to the Boston Herald. "It's like a guy on a fast break in basketball and dunking the ball and getting excited. You've won three Super Bowls. You don't do that."

Isn't that what seperates winners from losers? It doesn't matter how many times you have won before. You always go into the playoffs with as much excitement, preperation, and determination. The reason you play football is to win the Superbowl. The team that shows the emotion and excitement almost always wins, as was the result. That little statement from LT made me scratch my head in astonishment; and everyone said LT was sooo smart. That sounds like something coming from the mouth of a genious.....

And about the Belichick and Mangini refused hand shake, that wasn't a lack of class. Belichick was angry at Mangini for leaving his side and taking the head coach job for the team Belichick left because he hate the organization so much. To make it worse, Mangini went to a rival team and beat us in our house. I think people make to much out of it. Belichick didn't like what Mangini did, so he refused to shake his hand. Big deal.

Posted
LT lost huge respect from me calling out Belichek. I mean, c'mon, man. Probably the best coach since Lombardi and you're going to sit there and say that any type of classless behavior comes from him? The last thing on his mind ever is some stupid Merriman dance. You really think he cares?
Posted

He's just trying blame the Pats for something. He was so sure about going to the Superbowl as everyone was assuring him they would easily go to the Superbowl and win. He was angry he lost and the Pats celebration was the first thing he saw that he could target and jab the Pats for ruining his season. Sorry LT, but don't be a sore loser.

So you think Marty's losing his job? He made an aweful lot of mistakes and couldn't keep his teams emotions in check.

in total agreement with everything said. The Chargers were by far the best team we couldv'e played in the playoffs, they were the best team in the league. I am NOT scared of Indy at all. This would be BBs greatets superbowl form a coaching standpoint due to the personel he ahs to put out on the field compared to our other teams.

Oh well. The worst thing about that loss is next week I have to root for the Colts.

I can't believe you're not scared of Indy. You really think the Pats are going to walk right through and into the superbowl? This game is being played IN the RCA Dome, and we don't have Ty Law anymore. How can ANY Pats fan be happy to go there? Let alone be unafraid? If the Pats play like they did yesterday, they're going to have 50 put on them.

How Ironic

We're talking about the MVP of the league bitching about the Patriots celebrating. It's ridiculous. Belichick had a legitimate gripe if 1) the Jets tampered and 2) Mangini broke the "code" that Belichick, Mangini, and Parcells all have.

LT tells no lies.

It's funny how your hatred for the Pats gets in the way of your thinking. The Pats did the Eagles' flap thing after they won the superbowl and no one bitched about that. LT seems to be the only one that had a problem with anything. And like someone else said, read articles about the Chargers' conduct after they beat us last year. They're so classy, aren't they BoSox?

Peyton will step it up this weekend. He will show why he is the best QB in football' date=' maybe of all-time.[/quote']

Eh, we'll see. He always has a game or two in the postseason that leads to his demise. I will tell you though, he's very happy that Ty Law isn't on the Patriots.

And just as you predict that Manning will show why he's possibly the best QB in the league, I'll take that and raise you on Bill Belichick showing why he's the best coach of all-time.

Expect to see Manning struggle. Against a mediocre KC team and a great defensive Ravens team, Manning has been terrible. With Belichick planning and getting our defense ready, expect the same. Keeping the Chargers to only 20 points when they had sooo much yardage and time of possession, I think Peyton will get rocked again. I'm very interested to see just how good IND can keep their Def. There is no doubt that even when playing their best D, Indy doesn't have the toughness that the Chargers do on D. The Chargers led the league by ALOT in sacs and forced fumbles. They were a great blitzing team. Indy was LAST in the NFL in Sacs. I expect Brady to have a much easier game. It will no doubt be a tough game, but I just can't see the Colts stopping us.

and my point is that everyone blows this crap out of proportion. Let's give the Patriots a little more credit than to think they needed some "extra drive." They are so well prepared, so on the same page with one another, so in-tune with BB's philosophy that that crap doesn't enter into it as much as the media would like us to believe.

before you put the cart in front of the horse lets see peyton win something in his career for a change.

if peyton played anyone not named kc or baltimore hed be working on a new commercial instead of prepping

his #s were very very pedestrian against kc,who defensively sucks

he couldnt score on baltimore

the pats running backs should be well rested

they didnt run very far yesterday

Not in defense of LT cause i think he is dousche but lets replace belichick with LT and Mangini with the pats and im pretty sure its the same senario, i think both cases were rude and uncalled for because shaking hands after a win or a loss is just what happens in football. Whether you like the other guys or not there is no reason to blow them off post game. the way you are spinning it is just biased

20-3 in the afc playoffs the year law was out with a broken foot comes to mind

the patriots are a much better team than last year

much better than they were 2 months ago and peytons legacy is that of complete and utter failure when the chips are down

he has not shined this january nor last january when the pats were a non factor

indy is a 3pt favorite

look for that # to slide once the money people get wind of peyton manning being a favorite in january

that said

these 2 teams have played quite a bit of meaningful football over the last few years

if you believe in balance then you'd think the colts would win this thing

if you believe in good luck and virtuous bounces running out this would indicate that you think the colts are in the golden spot

im not of that mindset

i see peyton s***ing himself come the 2nd quarter

Posted

I prefer to focus less on Peyton himself than to look at the entire Colts team, from the head coach down.

Manning isn't playing for a team nearly as good as the Patriots. The entire COlts team will shi*t themselves next weekend. I don't even expect that close of a game.
