Sox hit with luxury tax

The Yanks and Sox have to pay the luxury tax, the only two teams in the league. The Yanks will pay 26 million, the Sox about 500 K.

 

It may make us look extravagant, but I would rather root for a team completely committed to winning than one worried about finances.

The Red Sox are the only team other than the Yankees to pay the luxury tax and the team was a steaming pile of crap that was out of contention by the first weak of August. That's quite embarrassing.

True. But at least we can't put woes completely on the FO (We still need a closer.) They are getting pieces (albeit at rediculous prices...$70 Million...$40 Million) and those players need to produce.
