Of course happy to see this type of contract for Roberts. But at his age, they could be hurting from it.

I'm a Roberts fan. He's a scrappy give it everything you got type player. A little steep in price for his age but good for him. He gave us alot of good memorys, so i'm glad to see him make a little money before his career is over.

As far as SF attempt to head to a youth movement, that lasted all of what? 3 weeks? Julio Franco will be a FA in 08, he probably could get a 3 year deal from SF:thumbsup:

Ridiculous contract but if there's one ex-Red Sox I'd like to see cash in like that, it would be him. Hopefully he can stay healthy and have a productive 3 years in San Francisco.

Wow this really is a year where teams are just giving out money. Kind of a big contract for a guy like Roberts who's getting older and isn't what he was in 2004. But I guess the Giants really wanted him with Barry Bonds most likely not coming back for 07 on the Giants.
