no big deal. Its not like hes going to call out Manny and tell him to gtfo like im sure some teammates might feel about Manny, obviously trading Manny will weaken the team in the short term but make us stronger in the long term

Not a big deal. Everyone would rather have Manny. Papelbon hasn't been through years of Manny demanding to be traded. He's a shoot from the hip kind of guy and likely doesn't have anything against manny personally.

It's not a big deal be he has no place saying anything about the teams' personnel decisions. He's coming off his rookie year. He has no place discussing anyone else on the teams' future other than his own. Once he reaches Schilling-like veteran status, then he can open up his mouth about team business but at this point in his career he's only going to get himself in trouble (or told to not talk to the media). His standing at this point in time designates how much he can open his mouth and right now he shouldn't discuss it further. Saying he'd love to see Manny stay is fine but when he starts digging into the potential JD Drew signing & trade rumors, he is in way too deep than his (low) level of paying dues entitles.

It would be nice to keep Manny, yes. But if it benefits the team, you gotta trade him. I'm sure some players like Manny and would hate to lose him as a teammate though.
