Also Alejandro Machado who made his debut with the Red Sox in 2005 was signed by the Nats today (and 19 others-- they added a bunch of borderline talent).

I actually liked Machado...saw him play in the minors and he had some potential but his development is behind schedule I think, based on what I'd read about him a couple of years ago.

he's a decent ballplayer but he's probably a utility infielder at best-- which is why the Sox let him go. Personally I always thought his speed would be a welcome addition but since the Red Sox don't really believe in the stolen base and this dude's got no power.... he had no chance to make it with the Red Sox.
