He played for the Cubs for quite a few seasons... it's not that surprising that he had a batting glove from the team where he really started getting full playing time during his career. Maybe it was a superstition that oh so many ballplayers have.

It is odd and a little interesting, but this is all crap. There was no curse. Wearing a Cubs batting glove does not make you play like the Cubs.

the story leaves out the fact that Buckner was a key to the Red Sox even getting to the WS that year...likely wearing the same Cubs batting glove.

 

If they want to carry on this curse crap, they should see if they can create an angle regarding Schiraldi and Stanley and how they were affected by the curse, cuz they're the ones that really blew the game.

It also leaves out that Buckner's biggest offense was not the rror but the fact that he set post season records for LOB. The Mets kept working around the key hitters to get to Buckner who came up empty time after time.
