New Reds/D-Backs logos and stuff...

Not sure how much anybody cares about I generally take an interest in these sort of things since before deciding on journalism, I was going to try and get into sports identity design and such. That said, the new D-Backs identity has been leaked along with some slight changes from the Reds. Gone is the Diamondbacks purple, teal, and copper color scheme and they added a slick new logo as well as updated the D Snake logo. The Reds changes are just a new wordmark and number font.

No, I think it's just the wordmark and numbers on the jerseys that are changing. The rumor was that they would replace the black in their identity with dark blue, but that wasn't the case. So their change is pretty minimal. But I think the D-Backs change is pretty significant, particularly with the change in colors. It looks much better than what they had.

The new D'backs color change was the buzz around here a few weeks ago...makes me want to go get some old (logo wise) stuff and store it away for about 40 years. But I really like what they (if indeed that's what they did) did. Good stuff all around.

These are leaked from the 2007 MLB Styleguide, so they're certainly official. I like the update of the D Snake logo and as soon as one of those hats (Black snake on red hat) goes on sale, I'll buy it.

Nice. Well, they did good work. I'm a big fan of black/red stuff. Particularly red on black...so I'll probably end up with one too.

Red and black is much better than that hideous purple-teal-copper scheme. None of those three colors goes with any of the other two. Yeccch.

The D-Backs were recognizable with the purple, they won a World Series with it. I am all for a slight logo change or maybe more emphasis on something, but from purple and teal to red and black is too much.

Yeah, well I hope they'll get rid of the sleeveless jerseys. It's a pain in the eyes seeing Eric Byrnes. Aren't you supposed to wear a T-shirt over your Under Armour?

Going from purple, copper and teal to anything other than canary yellow, copper and teal is never a bad thing.
