I do find it quite ironic that Harrison got injured on what might have been a dirty block. I wont shed tears for Rodney.

 Not a bad point.

Someone should ask Madden how Brett Favre's butt tastes because he sure is kissing it.

You say that like the man doesn't deserve a little adulation.

Yea Rodney isnt a stand up guy, team player, or that good of a safety. He's just a whining Patriot

Rodney is widely known as one of the dirtiest players in football. SI did a players poll on it:

Sorry, I just dont feel bad for a dirty player getting taken out on what maybe was a dirty play.

Falcons make Mora second coach fired

Falcons fired head coach Jim Mora.

A disappointing 7-9 season that started 5-2, in combination with his immature radio remarks led to Mora's demise in Atlanta. The Falcons had begun 6-2 in 2005 and finished 8-8. Mental toughness was a clear downfall at the end of Mora's tenure. He'll resurface, possibly at a major university (probably not Washington), or even in the NFL as a head coach. Jan. 1 - 1:33 pm et

Tiki Barber-RB-Giants Jan. 1 - 1:09 pm et

Tiki Barber has agreed to a four-year, $10 million contract with ABC News and ESPN, according to the New York Post.

That's about a $2.5 million-per-year pay cut from his scheduled base salaries with the Giants. Barber will work on Good Morning America and 20/20. He could be a candidate to fill Tony Kornheiser's role on Monday Night Football if Kornheiser leaves the show, but will need to make amends with Tom Jackson and Michael Irvin, whom he's called "idiots."

wow, its sorta crazy to think the Falcons and Giants started 11-4, and finished 4-13

Well, thats the NFL for you, at least they didn't start 8-0 and miss the playoffs like the Vikings way back when

Shouldnt this be announced after the Giants' season is officially over?

At least my boy Vinny got another TD....I hope he gets a lot of playing time in the Jets-Pats game.....like...first quarter playing timeB)

Thats the most Jets fans can hope for, seeing the Jets defense injure Tom Brady. Picture of that would probably be your new avatar

I see your point, but Mawae was out for blood yesterday as well. Mawae probably should have won that award. Rodney hits hard, he can be dirty, but the same amount of NFL players that hate Rodney love him for the same reasons. He may be classified as one of the dirtiest in the game, but he's also one of the most respected.

...why the Jets? You root for 2 Boston teams and a New York team (well' date=' technically New Jersey)? Why not the Pats?[/quote']

I've always liked the Jets ever since they got Curtis Martin because he was my favorite player at the time. I duno, I guess I just grew up liking them, however I watch the Pats more since they're on locally and the Jets are rarely on Sunday or Monday night.

I've always felt geographic location should have no bearing on the teams you cheer for.

Look at me specifically, I'm a Red Sox, Packers, UConn, and Colorado Avalanche fan (don't like the NBA)

I'm from Virginia, have no massachussetts ties and like all the boston pro teams. Go figure. I started liking the Sox, and then found out I loved the sports culture of Boston

No it's not that I feel that his location should have an impact on the teams he chooses to root for, I just think it's weird that he roots for two Boston teams and a New York team, given the basically inherent rivalry between the two cities with and beyond sports.

Beyond sports, NYC owns Boston. I don't think anybody can argue that. If you go to NYC for a week or two, Boston will seem like a quiet village when you return. Baseball and Basketball wise, Boston owns. I've never really felt a connection to the Pats even though I've lived in MA my whole life. Probably the main reasons are that they're in Foxboro and tickets are impossible to get.

Im excited for this weekend, new TV and everything!!

and for the side Convo, Jets, Yankees, Knicks, Orangemen, Rangers....so Im mainly here in the NY..but I really like the Nuggents as a close second in NBA

For that exact same reason, many people argue that Boston is the better city. Some people like how it's less rowdy and a bit smaller.

True, it depends what you're into. But in NY, you'll come across everyone and everything.

Yeah, I'm not saying NYC is worse or anything, I'm just saying that Boston suits me just fine. I don't need everything that NYC throws at you. I love cities, and if I lived in NYC I'd be happy to live there. It's just that I'm fine with Boston and all the extra stuff that NYC has, I just don't need or care about.

Yeah, true. I don't think I'd ever wanna actually live in the city because there's a little too much going on and it'd be hard to focus on living your own life but it'd probably be a cool place to go to college or spend a few years in.

Well, for instance, my dad is a BoSox/Celtics/Giants fan...I think that the reason for rooting for a New York team over the Ptas is the history of the New York teams. The Patriots, by contrast, don't have as much history and maybe family ties could have handed down Jets or Giants fandom.

I didn't word this very well, but you get the point.

Kickoff in 0:15, can Indy stop LJ?

I think the Colts will win, but the KC running game will make it close.

EDIT: What the heck, the playoff games deserve a fresh thread.....Playoff Game Thread

I think LJ will run all over them, but thats it, and will end up only being a question mark for next week. I say 28-14 Colts, LJ 178 yrds 2 TDs, but Manning has 3 TDs, and tumps em
