Jets are a contender for Wild Card aren't they? I'm just happy now that my Panthers are tied for first for the NFC south' date=' with a hurt defensive core.[/quote']

ehh...its a tought road..Right now..lets say that San Diego(/Denver)s garunteed one..that leaves the Jets-Jags-Bengals left.....Jags own tie breaker over Jets..and idk the rest because theres still a lot left to be played..but it'll indeed be tough. We need to hope that the Jags can finish at only 8-8 or 9-7 and us to go 10-6..then it seems to lay who does better vs AFC between Jets and Bengals..if thats what it comes down to(Right now Jets 4-4..Cinn 3-3)

I don't think you can count the defending champs out of that Wild Card hunt ... especially after what happened last year.

I don't care how good or bad the Steelers are playing ... after last year you can't count us out till we're mathmatically eliminated ........... which may not be far off.

Well, for them to make it, theyll need to run the table..and they got a rediculous hard schedual left. @ Cinn. @ Balt. @ Car. and then Baltimore again..and a surging Browns..I mean, if they can get through that and snag a WC..then repeat is very plausible...thats just a extreamly tough schedual.

I hear ya ... trust me I wasn't far from counting them out myself, but the Steelers beat the best teams in football last year on their run to the Super Bowl.

Cincy and Baltimore are extremely overrated. Cincy has no defense, and the Ravens offense isn't very good although people love it. Remember the Ravens have one of if not the easiest schedule in football. If the Panther don't have SS I don't see them beating us ... and I believe he got hurt today.

I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but I wouldn't be totally shocked if we found a way to do it.

So, for Thursday...Chiefs/Broncos is on the NFL Network. What if you don't have the NFL Network? I'm assuming you don't see the game. But, what if the Pats were to play on the NFL Network sometime and say that some of us didn't have it. Does that mean you get REALLY inconvenienced and just can't see your own team's game? That's pretty lame, if true...

The Steelers play a few games on NFL Network this year and they are still going to be run on the same local station that they are ran on every week.

As far as I know if you live in the hometown of a team playing on NFL Network you will still be able to see the game on the same local channel(CBS for me) that you see it on every week.

If the Pats are on the NFL network, the game will still be broadcasted in this region on regular TV along with the opponent's region. Just for the rest of the country those people will have to watch the game on the NFL Network.

This game was at the tailend of a pre-thanksgiving get together between me and my friends where I drank more before the game than I had intended... but I'm not mad or upset after this loss. It may be the alcohol, but I usually don't take losses this well. Great game though, for what it was. Wish the Broncos could've held on. I don't like Larry Coyer...

Anyone catch the 49ers game yesterday? The NFL finally allowed Mike Nolan to wear a suit...

Just some of the greatest coaches of all-time...

What looks bad is Belichick looking homeless on the sideline.

It's not an attack on Belichick, it's just that he's the best example of coaches looking bad on the sidelines.

I should add that Jack Del Rio of the Jaguars will be wearing a suit on the sidelines as well.

I'd like to see more coaches in suits on the sidelines.

Posted
Who gives a s*** what Belichick wears. I for one don't. He's the best coach in football and if he wants to wear a scrub sweatshirt then let him.

No one's saying that they care. It's an observation. I really don't give two shits what he wears, but it doesn't mean that he doesn't look god awful. He definitely looks homeless with what he wears.

Besides, his son's football team played my brother's last year and I was standing next to him. He was on the sidelines wearing a nice yellow visor and button down shirt. I credit him for coaching in comfort and not caring about his appearance. As long as he coaches well, appearance is the last thing that matters.

In a league that cares so much about players and teams looking presentable (see: fines for a helmet sticker in memory of a fallen friend or fines for socks), I'm shocked that the higher-ups for the NFL don't care. He looks homeless on the sideline. Yet, all the League cared about was that they wore team apparel, and when two coaches wanted to honor past coaches and look respectable, they didn't let them until this week. It's ridiculous. This -- how Del Rio and Nolan looked this week -- is how coaches should look.
Posted
The league gets a lot of money from Reebok to have the coaches wear their apparel. That's what fueled the switch from wearing what you want to having logos all over you.
Posted
I always thought(and still do) thinks its stupid you can't wear a certain type of clete. Thats passing over looks and could effect how some players play, if they got on cletes they dont like, or something.

I think you can wear different cleats as long as the logo is covered. I'm not sure, though.

Looks like Jay Cutler is going to be starting for the Broncos against Seattle...

This season had so much hope, too. Larry Coyer's inability or unwillingness to change the defensive gameplan when it's apparent that offenses have figured out how to move the ball against it really did us in. Jake's been bad, but this team should've won last week.

well i think it might be a good thing that Cutler is starting next game , Plummer has been awfull , 70 quarterback rating , 55 percent completion percentage , picked off 12 times and dosent even have 2000 passing yard in 11 game played ,amazingly the broncos are still 7-4 , i cant see Cutler doing worse than that

They have definitely had their chances. Plummer is what he is. That is not somebody that is going to win the game for you. I blame the coaches for part of the problem. There have been games with poor defensive plans, as well as poor offensive plans. Thursday night was a prime example. They were asking Jake to do something he's not equipped to do. Obviously, Jake isn't getting it done. It was time for a change long ago. The good news is that they can still savage the season. BTW, with your considerable knowledge and interest in football, how come you don't enter the NFL pick contest ?

Posted

I always forget about it. I entered last year because it was always on this page and I checked this forum a lot. I never think to look at the prizes and contests one and I never remember it off the top of my head. I'll try and remember to get in on it from here on out.

As for Plummer, he gets a lot of blame he doesn't deserve. This team, especially Rod Smith, the Tight Ends, and the RB's, drop a lot of catchable footballs. There is absolutely no threat of a consistent running game. 3rd and four and 3rd and three are obvious passing downs for us, it seems. Jake really only has one good option -- Javon Walker. It's painfully obvious that Rod Smith has lost a step. Unless the defense is in a zone, Smith can't get open for his life. The team looks lifeless, as well.

Midway through the third quarter against San Diego we put the brakes on on defense and starting playing to protect the lead. That's the only adjustment Coyer knows how to make. He should be demoted. He's a great teacher but his player calling is lacking, to say the least.
