I know it's unlikely, but so was breaking an 86 year 'curse'. As Red Sox fans, we should show more faith than any other team's fans!

More faith? What does that have to do with anything? Don't get me wrong, I want the team to win, and I root for them to win no matter who is on the roster (and I'll buy either the EI package or mlb.tv no matter how bad they look going into the year), but that doesn't mean I have to stop using my head in regards to personnel moves. Given the way they've played lately and the players they have nursing injuries/serious health issues, only a great fool -- i.e. a "fanboy" -- thinks they have a legit shot at the postseason. And, that's just making the postseason, forget about winning a series.

Newsflash the sox are unlikely to finish 2-4 games behind the yankees with a bad bullpen and no starters after schilling and beckett. this team can't go on a prolong winning streak.

Ironically, the appearance that the FO has essentially given up on reaching the post season by trading Wells may work overall into our favor -- with no more of the intense pressure on the players, they may actually start playing better.

Last night's game was one of the most enjoyable all season long, maybe THE most enjoyable, because we weren't expected to win. Nor will anyone expect us to win the rest of the season. Which translates to relaxed players and may translate to more wins.

If nothing else, we can have a lot of fun as spoilers:lol:

All I can say is it's about time they traded the guy. He's old and needed to be traded he was garbage and has been for awhile. He hasn't been able to be consistent and has struggled the last couple of seasons. Not to mention he has barely been healthy.

...

You do know he was our best/most reliable starting pitcher in the weeks leading to when he was traded, correct?
