Yeah, I root for BC when they play the 'Noles. It's weird, I feel weird rooting for both, but it's ok. I'll always root for BC over the 'Noles, though. Even when I go to college somewhere, when my school plays BC, I'll still root for BC.

Notre Dame and BC are my teams. If ND can take the next two games against ranked teams, their schedule is fairly easy the rest of the way. Bad news for BC with Matt Ryan being out against Clemson, he looked great on saturday.

I should have worded it differently but I meant if he's out, then it's bad news because of his good play.

I have Texas A&M going 8-4. With losses coming vs Texas Tech, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. You?

I am probably a bit biased, but honestly I find it hard to believe they will lose to Kansas. If A&M loses to KU this year, it would be an absolute heartbreak.

Despite this not being true record wise over the last few years, Kyle Field is still one of the toughest places in football to play at. I would go with 10-2 right now with losses against Oklahoma and at texas. texas tech will be a very tough game, but I think the Aggies pull it out. We'll have to see. I could be way off. It all depends on how our QB Stephen McGee plays. He only has two career starts at the college level now (although he has shown plenty of signs of greatness to come).

the Miami/Tech series favors the team that lost the previous year and the away team' date=' I think we win, if Kyle Wright has to make a play for them to win, Tech will win. GT was supposed to beat us last year in Blacksburg, College Gameday was there and everything but we clobbered them. 52-7, I don't think they will beat us, especially at home. BC I'm worried about because Tech always loses that game we aren't supposed to, and they always play us close up there. It will definitely be an interesting season, and I think a lot of top ranked teams are very overrated, like Notre Dame and Texas. Hokie Hi. By they way, do you go to many games? I dunno where you live, have you ever been to a game?[/quote']

I went to a few games in the early 90's when I still lived in Northern VA. I haven't lived in the mid-Atlantic since '98, so I haven't been since then. Most of my best friends from HS went to college there -- I got accepted but wasn't interested in school at the time.

I'll be at the Syracuse/Iowa game this Saturday.

All fans in attendance will get A ticket to a SU Basketball game (even though I have season tix)...just in case you are wondering why the dome looks full.

Make sure you let me know what gives you more of a headache... watching the team play or trying to read the numbers on their new uniforms from a distance.

Orange to Renew Rivalry with Boston College

http://www.suathletics.com/images/Football/2006/9/8/fans_WEB.jpg

The Syracuse-Boston College football rivalry will begin again in 2010.

Syracuse football will once again square off against Eastern rival Boston College on the gridiron. Beginning in 2010, the Orange and the Eagles will play eight games. The Orange owns a 28-17 record against Boston College in the 45-game series that dates back to the first game in 1924, a 10-0 Syracuse victory.

"This is a rivalry that needs to be continued," said Syracuse director of athletics Dr. Daryl Gross. “Obviously there were some issues that stood in the way with regard to conference affiliation during the past few years. However it is time to move forward to give fans of these schools what they want – a bigtime Eastern rivalry. New York and Boston already have a rivalry in the Yankees and the Red Sox. We look forward to this series becoming similar.”

Syracuse won the last meeting between these teams, 43-17, in Chestnut Hill, Mass. during the 2004 season. That game ended a string of 34 consecutive seasons that the Orange and the Eagles faced each other.

-------------------

Now all we need is to come to an agreement for basketball.

Haha, I can deal with the jerseys but Donovan McNabb spoiled me and now I want this team to win every game.

But, Syracuse fans are going to need plenty of patience this season. Tomorrow is not a must win game. As a matter of fact, it is an un-winnable game. Iowa has national championship possibilties while a simple first down is nearly impossible for Syracuse. Tomorrow will be UGLY. SU will most likely not score an offensive TD and will be crushed by a better, stronger and faster team with superior atheletes. That's what reality is right now for the SU football program. I'm not a Perry Patterson fan (Personally, I think he should be benched in favor of the True Freshman Andrew Robinson) but if he simply makes it through that game tomorrow without getting his legs broken against that tough defense he will have done well. Look for the white jerseys to be in the SU back field all day. SU's pourus offensive line will not be able to handle the Iowa front four. If SU score's 10 points, I will think that is a moral victory. Something like 38-0 is much more likely. But even after tomorrow's debacle, and the many more debacles that lie ahead this year.......0-12 perhaps? I won't give up. Brighter days are ahead. As we all in the 'Cuse should keep in mind, PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!

Rant over, Is it Basketball season yet?

Hokies looked like crap today. Ignore the scoreboard. UNC QB's threw some gimmie picks that lead to 14 pts. VTech was unable to move the ball very effectively against a lack-luster defense. The D and ST are, as usual, very impressive, but they'll need more out of the QB position to beat good teams.

ND vs. PSU about to start, anyone watching?

Posted

What about this one....

Rutgers - 33

Illinois - 0

that's right, zero. The sportswriters with a column down here in Florida will have a field day on Zook tomorrow.

Yep. They could be in for a 6 or 7 loss season in that conference. OSU, PSU, Mich, Mich St., and Wisconsin.....fuhgeddaboutit.

ND got a break on the bobbled snap. PSU needs to keep the pressure on Quinn because he's picking them apart when they drop back.

Szmardzja (sp?) is a stud. That was a hell of a catch.

I was just looking at their schedules. If ND can play these first 5 games clean, they should coast into the finale at USC. I don't see anyone on USC's schedule being tough for them to beat until that game. It would be a treat to have two undefeateds playing in November.

BTW, my buddy at work gave me an Excel file with the schedules for every Div I team by conference with a tab for key games of each week. It's nothing special, but it's pretty nicely put together and beats browsing to a sports website. I would upload it, but the Excel file size limitation for this site is 1 kb -- freaking small -- and this thing is 1.7 Mb. If anyone wants it, PM me your email address and I'll send it.

NOTE: It may take awhile since my ISP is having technical issues in the area today and when I've been able to browse it's been slow as hell.

Quinn's looking good in the 2-min drill. He's got a cannon for an arm, and it's accurate. He's deadly when he has time.
Posted

I think it's spelled Samardzija, but who the hell knows?

Yeah, he is a stud. That catch wasn't quite as impressive as the one against Georgia Tech, but that was just beautiful on both sides. Quinn made a beautiful throw and Samardzija made a great catch.

20-0

That drive just now to pretty much end the half was a beauty. Notre Dame looked unstoppable. Quinn was never rushed to make a throw on the entire drive -- that's a recipe for disaster for Penn State as you mentioned earlier.

If this game continues to go the way it has -- say Notre Dame wins by 24+ points -- does Notre Dame leapfrog USC and the loser of the Texas-Ohio State game back into #2? I think USC has a bye this week, right?
