Ok, well, sorry I have to make the threads early but tomorrow we're going out all day somewhere and I won't have time to make it before gametime. So, I will just make it now and just revive it tomorrow. The Sox got a nice sweep of the Orioles, and some nice momentum, heading into the series with the Tigers, who were roughed up by the White Sox over the weekend. Beckett needs to be big today to put the fire out of those bats, and we need to jump on Robertson early, as their bullpen doesn't give much up. The Yankees have one more game against the Angels before they take on Baltimore, so today is huge. A Yankees loss and a Sox win will put us right back in a tie for first place, and bring us right where we need to be. Go Sox!

Game Info:

Date: Monday, August 14th, 2006

DEAD TIGER MOJO!!!!!!!!!

Dumb question of the day, but I've been meaning to ask it for a while... what constitutes good TalkSox mojo? Any specific prerequisites? Seriously, I'm truly curious.

No rules. Whatever strikes you, however, if you like the theme of someone else's mojo, you can add on to it.

To Nuke LaLoosh, aka Josh Beckett:

Don't be like this guy. Don't be so set in your ways, so stubborn, that it kills you. Don't let your big head be your down fall. Use more of your secondary pitches. Location matters. Middle, middle (even at 100 mph) is a souvenier.

we'll see if Beckett comes up big. This is NOT a favorable matchup for him. Fastball hitting team against a fastball first pitcher. If tek were behind the plate, then there would be reason for confidence, but with Lopez back there, who knows. And it isnt the fact that Tek is amazing or anything, it is the fact that Lopez is that bad behind the plate.

It was more wishful thinking than anything else.

It wouldn't surprise me terribly if he turned in a nice start, but Detroit matches up well against him.

s***, settle down, Josh.
