I think the last time we faced CC Sabathia (last season?) we absolutly destroyed him. He is a hard throwing lefty and we have a whole lineup of solid RH hitters (Youk, Loretta, Manny, Lowell, Pena, Mirabelli) so basically I just want Jason Johnson to survive 5 innings then let the well rested bullpen take over.

Maybe Johnson looks at this as a time to get back at his former team?

Im thinking Javier Lopez will get sent to Pawtucket

well at least it's not snyder he earned his keep yesterday. Lets hope it's not a one day thing. but if lopez is sent down, then he don't have another lefty reliever. well it doesn't matter that much.

The main reason the Sox acquired Bryan Corey is because this season he held lefties to a .154 avg, so they would still be all set with that option

jjjohnson??

jesus christ

pitching empty cleveland rejected this guy and now he has his chance for revenge against the tribe??

if i were a betting man i'd lay it in on the cleveland with sabbathia

On Tito’s interview on EEI today he was asked who would more likely get the next start between Snyder and Johnson. His response was Johnson, with Snyder used out of the pen. He liked what he saw in Johnson’s start last night, especially his breaking ball.

oh god, Matt Clement doesn't look that terrible anymore

This is purely a subjective opinion of mine, but doesn’t Johnson seem to suck the life out of the game? I think in a lot of occasions that the starting pitcher sets the tone for how the team plays. I like Johnson’s determination but his starts remind me of Clement’s. It’s not really a fair comparison but jmo…

Clement and Johnson are virtually the same effect, except Clement has been good before, whereas Johnson has been like this his whole career. So basically Clement gives you a slightly better chance, as in like 1%, of having a great game.

how much longer are we going to experiment with this guy? He's pretty ugly to watch and im not looking forward to his next start. (first game against the yankees)

What about calling up someone like Smith or maybe even Zink from Pawtucket and give them a shot?? Probably better than Johnson.

Yeah, I prefer Kason Gabbard. Jason Johnson gives us no chance to win at all. He better not face the yankees this year. Those games are far to important to have someone up there to just throw the game away.

How come Gabbard's sucked so much in AAA though? He's like 1-6 with an ERA of 5.36

I'd call up Zink to face the Yankees. At times they tend to have trouble with the Knuckleball.

Jason Johnson is worthless. I can't stand watching the guy pitch to the point that I try to avoid it by only watching the Red Sox at-bats during his starts.

I’ve had about enough of Johnson and his great groundball or sinker or whatever pitch that has Theo convinced he’s a keeper. The moment Wakefield is activated I hope Johnson is DFA’d and Theo can write this off as another experiment that failed.
