Dont you think if it was mechanics, when they realized it was hurting his performances that badly, they would switch back to what he was doing before?

Who knows? Maybe they think they can teach him good mechanics and get his velocity back up without the violent delivery. I haven't read a follow up to the report that he did change them.

I think Shoppach has more to do with being shown confidence by the Guardians than any drugs. Players tend to perform better when they know they're gonna play.

He was in a car accident and had a season ending shoulder injury.
