Hey Sox fans. I am obviously new to this board, and kind of new to the Red Sox. I have rooted for the Red Sox before, being an avid Yankee-hater, but now I think it is time I become a fan full-time. My old team which I am currently "separated from," the Phillies, cheated on me and broke my heart for the last time. With one of my favorite Phillie fixtures + Corey Lidle going to the Yankees for ABSOLUELY NOTHING IN RETURN AT ALL, maybe I should start looking at other baseball teams.

 

I may have rooted for the Sox before, moreso just to see the Yankees and their fans suffer. Hopefully I could catch on over here, and this seems like a mature environment I could easily post in (much like the one I came from).

 

 

Anyway, Death to the Yankees, long live the Sox.

I read an article a while back...actually, a long while back...about a guy who was in very much your position. I want to say he was a die-hard Royals fan (if any such thing exists) for a while and was finally fed up with their suckage. He decide to declare his allegiance to another team. He actually WROTE LETTERS to other clubs, stating that his fandom was on the table. Apparently, certain teams did really cool things like sending him merchandise and tickets and autographs and stuff. It struck me as a pretty cool story.

 

Regardless, welcome to TalkSox and, overall, Red Sox Nation. You're going to love it here.
