In 39 years of watching the Red Sox, I have never seen a left side of the infield that has come close to these guys. Their offense has been a pleasant surprise too.

Sox offense broke out of their doldrums clubbing 5 HRs (all off of lefty Jamie Moyer). They have now won 3 straight games against lefties

 

Kyle Snyder proved to be a decent starter today, unfortunate with the calf strain. Final line was at 5 innings, 5 Hits, 2 Runs (0 ER), 2 Walks, 2 Ks. He has won 2 of his first 3 starts with Boston.

Can anyone explain why we used our 3 set up men in a blow out. We should have used Tavrez, Seanez and that other lefty, so in case its a close game we have a fresh bullpen?

To be fair, Hansen hadnt worked since Monday. So at same time got to keep him fresh. The problem came when Hansen allowed 4 hits in his 2nd inning (thank god for double play) that made it a 4-run ballgame. Tito brought in Manny to hold the line, but yea Timlin shouldnt have come in with a 5-run lead

 

There is no lefty out of the Pen. Craig Breslow was sent down for Kylse Snyder, and Javier Lopez was sent doen for Jermaine Vab Buren
