Hahaha, I just had to make a thread about this. I'm watching the Cubs-Mets game on ESPN, things are going pretty well for the Cubs...they score 5 runs early and knock Orlando Hernandez out of the game after 1 1/3 innings. The fans are light in spirit and it looks like they might pull out a win. Suddenly, all hell breaks loose...Floyd hits a grand slam, then later in the same inning Beltran hits ANOTHER grand slam and the fans boo mercilessly. As I write this, Delgado just ripped a double down the 3rd base line and the inning. Will the Cubs win another world series...ever?

David Wright 2 run homer...second hit of the inning, 11 runs in the inning and the bleachers have erupted...and the inning lives on. Wow.

if it goes some more, we could have a Fernando Tatis moment, do you remember that?

Miller brought it up a few minutes ago

2 GS in the same inning by the same player, amazing

If I was a Cubs fan right now, I would be questioning the meaning of life. But when you watch the fans in the stands, it doesn't matter if the score is 20-3 Cubs or 27-6 Mets, they always have those same joyful, drunk expressions. What can you expect from them though, these are the same fans that to this day blame their 100 years and counting WS drought on an out of shape, elderly fan who never stepped on the Wrigley diamond in his life. These people make Yankees fans look like rocket scientists and Harvard professors...god bless them.

you know, this probably isnt that bad, they are used to it. An 11 run inning probably doesn't phase a team that has pretty much perpetually sucked (with exceptions) for 95 years

Of course they don't care, as long as the beer is cold and the Wrigley ivy is green, what else matters to them?

that Steve Bartman is miserable

Remember when they televised the explosion of the Bartman ball and made it a big deal, claiming it would end the curse...that really seemed to work.

God, I hate how whenever ESPN gets a new tool..(virtual strike zone, super super slow mo)..they are so proud and have to show it on every at bat and they feel the need to brag about it 5 times an inning. It's cool after one or two hits but after that, it's pure overkill.
