Waste of an inning, horrible play by manny. Sox fans are well aware that this is what comes with the Mannitory. It's like a manny tax. He can make some great defensive plays, outthink any pitcher in baseball, and then play like a drunken relative at a whiffleball game. My god that guy makes 20million a year

I really don't have a problem with that...

Sure, I'd rather have him on first with one out...but it's about time we test those weak outfield arms.

even weak outfield arms can throw Manny out at second, maybe not going to home, but they will get him at second

Yeah, Im sure what was running through Mannys mind was 'damn, I really got told by an attempted brushback by a skinny little weasel'

I was thinking more along the lines of 'I can't believe that ******* threw one at my head. I'll show him...'

It also said someone threw 104 earlier' date=' all radar guns are off.[/quote']

hey the gun in detroit over the weekend said that a Nate Robertson pitch went 300

More than anything I think manny was trying to test Damon's arm and hopefully pick up a base at his expense. He should know that damon, unlike he, is rather astute in the field and certainly capable of covering for the one contingency on an easy basehit to center: "throw the ball to second, don't let anyone get a double from a single". Not too hard. Manny likely would have been changing the 50 Cent song on his MP3 sunglasses or urinating in the corner if someone tried it against him.

god love the man, but we're not messing around here! This is a big series.

Ahhh, maybe. "No one throws at Manny"!

I just thought you may have been implying that that actually made him uncomfortable at the plate.

The movement on Pauley's pitches (while perhaps not comparable to Maddux)(I did it again) reminds me a lot of someone familiar and dear to all of our hearts: Arroyo. He seems to have a pretty explosive fastball when mixed with his movement stuff.

Nahh, Arroyo has more slurvy late-breakin stuff. Like his ruve moves an inch but its so late if thrown right its effective, also his fastball is nothin special. His curve has a decent and sharp break on it, and his fastball has that 2 seam effect on it, breaking down and away at 90. He should try aiming at the hitters so it'll come back into the zone, i'll always remember Lowe using it in the 03 ALDS.

Nice job NESN showing a "beckett can do it all" commercial --why didn't they show anything from last night!
