why is Van Buren being sent down? He's a much better option than some of the guys out in that pen. Hes only had one bad game, last night, and has been more consistent than Tavarez, Seanez and Riske. I was hoping someone, maybe Foulke went to the DL.

Probably because he pitched Sunday and Monday, and wouldn't have been available for tonight anyway.

The status on Timlin’s return is uncertain. I saw this on Rotoworld:

 

Mike Timlin (shoulder) reportedly may not be ready to return from the disabled list when eligible Saturday.

"I'm hoping he would certainly be healthy," manager Terry Francons said. "It depends how prepared he is to pitch. He needs to face hitters. He asked me about going down to Pawtucket for a game. I said, 'If you don't need to, we don't want to do it.'" Sounds like Boston wants Timlin back as soon as possible.
