I have been reading that John Lester might be starting one of the two games on Saturday, June 10th against the Texas Rangers. Beckett is scheduled to pitch the other game. Does anyone know if Beckett will pitch the afternoon game or the evening game?

From this article it looks like he’ll be pitching the night game:

Pitching plans: The Red Sox aren't ready to make any announcements, but Francona said preparation was well under way to determine who will pitch the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Rangers. Josh Beckett is pitching the first game.

Don't rule out prized prospect Jon Lester making his Major League debut in that nightcap. Lester's next start for Triple-A Pawtucket is scheduled for Monday, which would put him right on line to go again on Saturday. In 10 starts for Pawtucket, Lester is 3-4 with a 2.95 ERA.

God. The Clemens thing is so dumb. Whatever I'm not getting into it again. The Damon thing on the other hand is reasonable.

Texas has always had terrible pitching, or well, not terrible but their lacks have been in the pitching department. If we start Lester against Wasdin it is by no means a guaranteed win. This club can flat out SMACK the ball. Their offense is scary. If they had decent pitchers that could consistently give out quality starts they'd be my pick to win the West every year.

Texas's offense is aided bigtime by their ballpark.

Cool, lets hope he has a great carreer with us and doesn't pull a clemens/damon on us.

Let’s hope that Lester does develop into a top level major league pitcher, deserving the big money that starters make nowadays.

By the way is Lester represented by an agent?

Lester is represented by an agent as is most minor leaguers of his quality.

If it is Scott Bora$ then he might just follow Damon's lead...:(

Lester couldn't go anywhere for 6 years once he is up....and besides if he turns into the stud red sox fans think he can I am pretty sure he will be locked up long term.
