Terrible performance by a kid who had NO business being there. I cannot believe we have a $130 mill payroll.. unilimted resources, relatively speaking, and this is the best we can run out there? I have been biting my tongue all night..this kid is TERRIBLE. He got slaughtered out there.. We are LUCKY to be ahead. We may need 3 innings from Paps tonight. I hope our bats are not done for the night.

 

I know we have had some unfortunate injuries..but this is embarrassing. Paulie is a LONG..LONG way from being a Big League pitcher. Theo needs to get us a decent pitcher in a hurry.

He's 22 years old pitching his first ever game above AA against one of the best lineups in the league. You certainly sound a lot smarter when you're biting your tongue.

So what? He is terrible..sorry/ It is not his fault..it is Theo's fault. He should have never been put in this situation. It is Theo's gfault fopr leaving us thin in pitching and trading Arroyo. Sorry..there is a reason the saying goes//"You can never have enough pitching"..and with Clement's implosion late last season and Wells's health and attitude we chould have NEVER traded Arroyo.

i think the kid has some potential if that was his first big league start straight up from AA. While he got lucky, he did not blow it. A little more time in the minors could put him in the bottom of our rotation in a year or two

If giving up 11 hits and 6 runs, while walking 3 in 4.1 innings does not BLOW..I don't know what does.

 

My anger is not wqith Paulie..he is a AA pitcher. It is with Theo for killing us with that Arroyo trade when he knew there were question marks with Wells and Clement all winter. He needs to do something to get us a pitcher. We cannot keep going like this.

Youre reading way too much into a 22 year old's major league debut. Let alone its against the best hitting team in all of baseball. Talking about $130 million payroll we have... ok what available good free agent starting pitchers are there? None. Jon Lester wasnt available because he just threw on Sunday. Abe Alvarez & Matt Ginter are both soft-throwing lefties, Blue Jays would most definitely kill them even more. But yea for a kid who has never seen above double a batters, he sucks.

i definitely agree about Arroyo, i wanted to punch Theo myself, but you cannot say Paulie was terrible, especially for the situation

I'm not blaming the kid. He did the best he could. Terry was expecting 5 innings and a win? I wasn't. If we lose this game, it 's just another game that Terry has gift-wrapped for the opposition.
