not yet he isnt...

Nor will he ever be.

What makes you think a 32 year old outfielder who is getting slower, losing range, and is suffering nagging injuries to his shoulder and foot will somewhat get better.

Face the facts. Damon posted a 25 FRAR rating his second year in Boston (career high) last year, it lurched to 14, this year it's slipped all they way to one. His .350 OBP is good, but is it superstar money? Not even close.

If they had signed him for 2yrs. at 14 per.. thats a marginal deal..

But at 4 years at 13 is just off the charts mismanagement. The reason the Yankees havent won while having a retarded payroll comes down to the fact of gross mismanagement.. whether thats Cashman or The Man behind the curtain..is up for debate.

The fact is, this franchise is a big bloated disaster.

now that is a stupid comment if I ever heard one. A franchise that has been in the postseason for 11 consecutive yrs with 4 WS wins and 6WS appearances is a disaster? What planet are you on....

Re-read my posts from last August. I've hated Johnny Damon ever since I closed that thing he calls a book.

I really don't mind that he signed with the Yankees. It's a business decision. That still doesn't change the fact, that he's an arrogant jackass.

Funny, I thought you hated it when people responded with taunts after you provided some analysis.

Milk-Toast with another fine play in RF.

 Remember the paragraph where he spells Edmonds "Edmunds", and then later in that same paragraph calls him "Edwards"?

that is a current streak you know...

???

No, I meant disregard what happened last year. He is telling you, look at the aging lineup, and the aging pitching staff.

BTW, good play by Cano.

I do, but when you provide me with stats from one month to determine if a 4 yr contract was a bad one, I'll laugh at you. It isnt like he's hitting under .200 here, cmon now....

Last WS win?

Yah I meant current you turkey... you can flaunt all those rings from previous years but it does nothing to save the fact your franchise is a bloated joke..

You follow? Or should I type slower?

again, you are a blubbering baffoon. The Mets have been a joke because they havent made the playoffs in 4 yrs yet were over 100 mil. Same as the dodgers.

He still isn't worth 13 million dollars. His days of hitting 20 HR's are gone, his elite fielding status is gone, and his .350 OBP is good, but not superstar money.

But you are right, it is hard to say if the contract will be a bad one. I'm just taking an educated guess, that players get worse with age, and that Damon's nagging injuries will eventually overrun him. (ala Steve McNair)

It wasn't like there weren't warning signs with his bum shoulder at the end of last year, and his BA and BABIP away from Fenway during his career. Those numbers through one month line up very well with his AWAY splits from the last 4 years. C'mon now...

No f***bag..

Your 200M payroll is spent on guys on the shelf, long gone, or just incapable.

Eat it.

What that has to do with the Mets is beyond me.

Its like robbing banks and telling the judge you havent killed anyone.

Both teams have played well?

I'm not saying the Yankees are a joke, I'm just trying to clairfy what DK is saying.

Eat it? Eat what? The fact that I have seen the yankees in the playoffs every yr since 1995? The fact that I have seen the yankees win the world series 4 times? Could they do better with 200 mil, yeah if you do a monday morning QB approach. Fact is, they get to the promised land every yr, what they do there is as much luck as it is skill....

What's the difference.....Hes not clutch otherwise at any other time

When A-Rod does get a hit to break a tie, or gets an early inning RBI, your quick to say, "he's still not clutch, it's only the third inning."

You should probably wait until the 7th inning to get on A-Rod for being clutch.
