I noticed everyone else was stearing clear of this thread, so I'll start it. This is my second thread start of the season.

http://espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/7268.jpg vs. http://espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/5806.jpg

Dinardo (1-1, 6.17) Lidle (3-4, 4.84)

If we can squeeze out the win here, we're in really good shape going into the Yankee series.

I was hoping Abe Alverez would get the start.

me 2, why not give the kid who was dominating AAA a chance. The phillies have been playing awful lately and they're lineup is full of lefties which would be to his advantage.

That being said, i think Dinardo pitches his best game of the season.

If theyres a team that you want Alverez to pitch against, its Philly. Theyre confidence couldnt be lower and thats what a young kid needs his few few starts.

Ah well... Dinardo should be okay.

LOL!!! I see... You didnt want to start a Game thread for a DiNardo start... trying to keep that Record looking good huh B95?

<_ maybe... src="//d1mqtyoopj0gsc.cloudfront.net/emoticons/default_laugh.png" alt=":lol:">

this might be Dinardo's last game started for a while as Boomer thinks he will start against TB Friday.

I think Boomer will be lit up, if and when he comes back. Ive seen alot of columes write about how the doctors say his knee cannot hold up over a duration that it needs to for a effective SP. It effects his delivery, velocity and control.

If Boomer were 50 pounds lighter, his knee could hold up. At his weight and his age with those bad knees, he wont last the yr. You arent asking him to do that though. If he gives you 15 starts and gives you 8-9 QS's then he bridges gets you closer to the playoffs, where you dont need a 5th starter...

my guess at the Sox lineup. Since Papi has the day off, I believe that Manny should hit 3rd and have Lowell's hot bat in the cleanup spot.

Cory Lidle (11 games vs. Boston, 1-2 record with a 6.75 ERA---Career at Citizens Bank Park in 24 games, 10-9 record with a 5.14 ERA)

Kevin Youkilis --

Mark Loretta, 1 for 4 (.250 avg) Double

Trot Nixon, 4 for 18 (.222 avg) Triple, HR, 4 RBIs, 2 Walks, K

Manny Ramirez, 6 for 13 (.462 avg) Double, Triple, 4 RBIs, 5 Walks, 2 Ks

Jason Varitek, 2 for 14 (.143 avg) 2 Doubles, RBI, 2 Walks, 4 Ks

Mike Lowell, 5 for 13 (.385 avg) 3 Doubles, Walk, K

Wily Mo Pena, 1 for 3 (.333 avg) 2 RBIs, K

Alex Gonzalez, 4 for 10 (.400 avg) HR, 2 RBIs, Walk, 2 Ks, SB

Lenny DiNardo -- (first major league at bat today)

///

Willie Harris, 1 for 6 (.167 avg) 2 Ks

Dustan Mohr, 0 for 3, 2 Ks

David Ortiz, 5 for 17 (.294 avg) 2 Doubles, HR, 2 RBIs, 4 Ks

J.T. Snow, 3 for 12 (.250 avg) Double, HR, RBI, 2 Walks, K

Lenny DiNardo (1 game vs. Philadelphia, 10.80 ERA---1st career appearance at Citizens Bank Park)

Jimmy Rollins, 1 for 2 (.500 avg) RBI

Chase Utley, Walk

Bobby Abreu --

Ryan Howard --

Pat Burrell, 0 for 1

Shane Victorino --

David Bell, 1 for 1 (1.000 avg)

Carlos Ruiz --

Corey Lidle --

///

David Dellucci, 0 for 1

Alex Gonzalez, 0 for 1, K

Alvarez as a Flyball pitcher in that ballpark is not a good idea and thats why he is not starting because dinardo is more of a groundball pitcher.

Wow Sean McAdam just pointed out on WEEI that WMP has more RBI's than Manny.

Yeah, Manny's killin my fantasy team.

In the cash league i am in, Manny was taken 2nd overall. Over Pujols!

remarkably, the guy is in 5th place..

Dont get me wrong..Im not the kind of jackass that is ready to jump off the bandwagon on a star player or his team on May 21st ;)

Manny WILL hit.. I just thought it was interesting.

Today, tomorrow, next week. It'll happen eventually. He doesn't HAVE to step it up, we're winning without his productivity, but it would certainly help. Something just isn't clicking, but when it does click, he'll bust out in a big way.

Hopefully dinardo can give us 5 or 6, i would rather not use papelbon because of the yankee series, but as long as they win who cares? Go SOX!

i'd like to see many hit big today.

with Ortiz out of the lineup we need his production.

unless dinardo wants to hit a homer,

It would be nice to get a sweep today going into the series against the Yankees. I am not counting on it..but I don't think it's inconceivable. I am honestly not too worried about the Yankees. This year more than any in recent memory, if we just play our game...we will be just fine. We have the defense, the pen, and solid starting pitching. Of course, I would like to get Coco and Wells back.. no offense to Lenny, but he is best served being a long man at this point.

Lenny will be the odd man out when Wells comes back. He is the obvious player to be sent down to Pawtucket when Wells is activated from the DL.
