Red Sox acquired RHP Brad Baker from the Braves to complete the Franklin Nunez trade.

Boston sent Nunez, another right-handed reliever, to Atlanta in spring training. Baker rejoins the organization that made him a 1999 first-round pick. He had a 2.40 ERA in 15 innings for Triple-A Richmond. It's possible that the Red Sox will take a look at him as a 12th pitcher at some point. He'll be assigned to Triple-A Pawtucket for now

 

I faced this kid at Fenway in a HS all-star game, and he was nasty. He threw 94mph and had a wicked curveball. I still hit one off the Monstah against him, ha.

Back in the day he was once the Red Sox top pitching prospect....I really thought he would have been in the big leagues by now especially when he was with the Padres and doing well in the minors. I'm surprised they never gave him a chance.
