Gibbons was at -5.8 D3 as he was fired, the worst D3 total in MLB. Under Gibbons the Blue Jays underperformed their demonstrated talent by almost six games. Given an average job by their manager--or average luck, if you're a skeptic--the Blue Jays would be roughly tied with the Yankees in third place in the AL East, not trailing the Orioles mired in last.
