7 for 16 this year with RISP and 2 outs

That's almost .500 in case you didn't know

Trust me, I'd make you my bitch in a math competition.

Wow, 16 whole ABs? How about these numbers....

Whole Career: .314/.386/.461 -- 6167 AB

Career RISP: .292/.385/.400 -- 1272 AB

Looks like the same player minus a little pop to me, yet the myth sill lives on.

Like ORS said with Smoke and Mirrors. The guy is maybe the luckiest pitcher in the AL right now.

He has enough deception and movement to keep the ball off the fat of the bat. He is wild enough to be unpredictable....

Yeah, I was thinking he might just have a little effective-wildness going on when he isn't missing horribly. Clement does the same thing from time to time.

Chacon does that all the time though. He also throws the wrong pitches in the wrong counts. Like that pitch. 3-1 changeup? He throws 3-0 curve balls. He is also not afraid to get down in the count or walk somebody. He is the strangest pitcher I have ever seen, but we love him....

Come on trot---geez 3-1 you wait for your pitch (which is a fastball) and you end up swinging at a breaking ball low and away and popping up---knucklehead!

We love him too Riv! He is LUCKY to not be down a few runs... It is not any of Chacon's doing that the Yanks are ahead. Though I see what you mean about throwing offspeed pitchers in hitter counts.

9:30 takes 35 vicious cuts with his bat naked in front of the mirror - screams out loud "Dougie is going deep tonight"

Make it so.

I do like Chacon a lot. He's from Greeley, CO, which is where I happen to be typing from and he was one of my favorite Rockies. Too bad he had to go to the Yankees.

You can rationalized it anyway you want--the fact remains he has been an lucky escape artist tonight!!

There goes the lucky one--let's hope the luck goes with him! The funny thing is that chacon can't even win the game now!
