You know what eles is being over looked the fact that Mark Lorreta cant hit, he is around 220. When Coco comes back Youk should hit second, that would get more runners on Before Papi and Manny

no hes not

He was on the DL earlier this year after straining his shoulder in spring training. He just recently came back from it.

Loretta was born a number 2 hitter. I would keep him there and move youk down in the lineup to help the bottom of our order!

hes hitting .278/.395/.444 1 homer 4 RBI's

I never thought i would ever say this but, maybe we should have kept Edgar, he might have rebounded defensivly and he is a good number 2 hitter. However, I dont know, I remember getting very Frustrated with Edgar last season

look at when Loretta was hitting second behind Coco, .438 avg in the first 6 games. Besides his succes as a contact hitter has come in the #2 hole.

Youkilis gives stability in the #8 slot that Billy had given us in his 3 seasons.

true but then the Sox wouldnt have had the key bargaining chip needed to get Coco. Sacrifices must be made to get the guys you want (Beckett, Crisp)

The key word was it was only 6 games. I dont see what Coco not being there has that much to do with Lorreta hitting 220. He has Manny and Papi behind him, he is seeing all fastballs.

so you actually think he's gonna be batting .200 for the whole season? Tek is batting .250, I think they need to move him down in the order also.

No, but I really think we overratted him he is 34, sometimes baseball players start getting worse in their mid 30's, I also am wondering that ifwe kept Graffy and Mirabelli we wouldnt be better off, Graff hit 310. with us last year. Its just something to think about

Loretta came of his second thumb injury and has shown a total lack of power since. At his age and after such a bad injury, you cannot rule out the fact that he could be sliding for good...

And he's spanking them around the park, the only problem is that he's hitting a lot of balls right at people. I'd be worried if it was a bunch of weak choppers and pop-ups, but he's hitting hard grounders and line drives at OFs. League average BABIP is around .300, and his last two years were .298 and .344. This year, thus far, his BABIP is .235. That will come around. I'm not worried about Mark.

Same thing, over and over and...

Watch the games. He's putting a charge into the ball. He was in ST, he was early in the year when he started hot, he is now. The ball is just right at people a lot of the time.

I can, because he isn't really sliding. Talk about his lack of power, but he never had any. The guy is swinging the bat fine. I've watched nearly every game and I've gotta say I haven't noticed he hasn't been hitting the ball well. Baseball is a game of percentages and sometimes those percentages just don't go your way. I know you'd love to think his career is over but I don't think it is. You should hope he is ok too because dustin pedroia will take his place if he isn't and that might be worse for you.

Does anyone know how old matt ginter is?

He has a sluggin percentage of .301. That is horrible. Last yr, his slugging percentage was in the .300s with a .280 BA. The guy lost his power when he broke his thumb...
