Draft is right around the corner who will your team draft.

Mines the Panthers, they'll look to draft a RB for help with Foster. Or maybe even OLB since we lost Witherspoon this year and Fields has been out since late year before because of cancer. I'm a big Bucks fan. I like to see a high trade up for our 1st, 2nd, and 4th/ 5th round picks to get A.J. Hawk or trade down a few spots and grab Carpenter.

I love to see Carpenter drafted because he is such a steal. He was overshadowed by HAwk here's his overall paragraph

Overall: Carpenter played in all 14 games as a true freshman in 2002. He played in all 13 games as a backup linebacker during his sophomore season in 2003, finishing with 37 tackles. As a junior in 2004, Carpenter finished with 93 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions and two sacks. Carpenter started all 11 games that he played as a senior in 2005 and finished with 49 tackles, 10.5 TFL and eight sacks. He was unable to play in the Fiesta Bowl versus Notre Dame because of a broken ankle injury he suffered in the first quarter versus Michigan. Carpenter is a bit of an underrated prospect, largely because he has been overshadowed by teammate A.J. Hawk. Carpenter has a terrific size/speed combination. He is an intelligent, durable and physical player who shows great consistency on the football field.

I wonder how will Matt Leinart play in NFL .... because he's good but USC is a great team with some many talents ... the NFL is another level.

Many have the Pats pickin up Carpenter, but rumor has it is that we'll use some of our picks to go up a few spots to get as high as Hawk, but that is unlikely. I think the Pats are goin to wait until next year for a back, an focus on OLB/CB/WRs this draft in the top 3 rounds, however we have so many picks who knows who else we'll pick up.

Alot of people also have talked about the Patriots either maybe getting Kamerion Wimbley or Manny Lawson and turning them into an outside linebacker in the 3-4. Also Maurice Stovall would be a good addition to the wide receiver corps considering he has played in the patriots offense at Notre Dame last year.

Don't expect them to take 11 players.....They will be trading up or trading picks for next years draft.

Yeah, thats what I've been eharin, I'd love to get a good OLB in teh 1st, Stovall 2nd, and RB in 3rd

Carpenter doesn't have the best of speed for a linebacker but both Wimbley and Lawson run really well for big guys and both would be great fits to move to OLB in the 3-4

But he has the mental part of the game. Never fastest, strongest, or biggest guy, just was smart. That carries over he gets himself in positions for tackles and sets up other teammates....i.e. AJ Hawk

I like Carpenter but I would be pretty surprised if they drafted him. The pats don't draft linebackers this high and it has always been the Pats way of converting DE's into OLB.

Predicting who the Pats are going to take is pretty useless. Might as well throw a dart at a dart board. I like Chad Jackson and Deangelo Williams. We'd have to trade up to draft Jackson, unless Denver does something odd at 15. I don't expect the Pats to draft Williams, but I like him. Its pretty much who falls too. No one thought the Celtics were going to draft Gerald Green becuase no one thought he'd be on the board. I've seen drafts that have Wimberly ranked well above the Pats, and I've seen drafts where he falls. I think Kiper had Kiwanuka available at the Pats 2nd round pick.

I'd like to see Deangelo Williams or Chad Jackson in the first round, I think we can look for a DB later in the draft. As for linebacker, I'm not sure, I'd love to see Hawk but he'll be gone before our pick, really feeling the consequences of a weak offseason, so many holes to fill.

They might actually need to. Do you expect Corey Dillion to run for 1,000 yards this year? Better question, do you expect him to sniff 700 yards?

I don't expect the 1600 yards like he did in 2004 but if healthy he will easily get 700 yards even at least 1000. In this day an age 1000 yards is really not anything special anymore because so many guys accomplish it now. The Pats focus will be on defense and anything else will be a total shock.

1. Lendale White/Deangello Williams--RB

2. Maurice Stovall/Martin Nance--WR

3a. Chris Gocong/Parys Haralson--OLB

3b. Bernard Pollard/Marcus Hudson--S

4. Will Blackmon/Josh Lay--CB

thats my prediction and hope for the first 4 rounds

faulk and dillon both have a bad history with injuries and they arent getting younger. They need some young depth at RB. If someone like Lendale White is available at 22, id absolutely take him (if Manny Lawson is already taken). White was a projected 5-15 pick before free agency started and all the teams in need of a RB picked up RB's

I'd be pretty shocked if the Pats drafted either a receiver or a running back in the first round.

I agree. My post was more of what I'd like to see them do. I like Williams alot. However, I don't think you can be surprised no matter what position they take. Last year they took a guard in the first round, and they've taken two tight ends. I don't think its because they valued these positions, i just think they felt they were the best players on the board. If Belicheck thinks a RB is the best player on the board I'm sure he'll take him.

That would be sick if they got Will Blackmon, he is so fast, before the season he was projected for late first round, not sure why he slipped so much but he still has the potential to be a big play receiver.

Blackmon can be had in the 3rd to 4th round. He doesn't really stand out as anything. He played both reciever and corner but did not stand out at either.

Dillion's done. He averaged a paltry 3.4 yards a carry last year. He was as agile as Chris Reeve was. They may draft a linebacker round one, then a RB round two, but whatever order it's in, they need a RB, badly.
