A blown call that goes against the yankees costing us 2 runs. Well got that daily occurence out of the way. Lets start playing now.

Why Baseball hasn't followed suit when the 2 other major sports have gone to instant replay is beyond me. Nothing more annoying than umps deciding the game.

I'm not saying umps are targeting the yankees deliberately. I'm saying instant replay is needed. Blown calls don't need to be "part of the game." Sorry if I'm somewhat of a perfectionist. I want things done right.

But whenever the Sox have a call agenst them....the umps have a meeting and overturn it, I wonder what that feels like...I'd never know

Yep. It's a conspiracy.

Too bad for Francona. He's gonna be crucified for sending Beckett out for the 8th.

huh? are you serious

Beckett thre just 78 pitches through first 7 innings, any manager would bring him back for the 8th. Only thing I was against, was brining in Rudy Seanez in an extra innings game with the go-ahead runner on base.

i don't want to see isntant replay in baseball.. part of the game is being safe by an inch, or out by an inch.

if there were to be instant replays i think it should not be for balls and strikes. it should be for stuff like trapping balls, seeing if players left the bag too early on a sac fly, checking if HR's were actually HR's..

yelling at the tv about balls and strikes is one of the fun part of watching the game with a couple bro's and a couple more brews.

agreed, if that were part of the game, the game time would be extended an hour on all the things tha could be deemed "challengable"

Jeter home run was about 10 years ago my friend.

And yes, for some reason this year we have just had horrible luck when it comes to the ammount of bad calls made against us. However, I am against instant replay in Baseball. I just need the human element present, otherwise it wouldnt be baseball. So while i'm pissed about s***** calls killing us, i'm content with just moving on. Nothing I can do.

Nice job home plate ump, right on cue! Calls strike 3 on a ball at least 5 inches off the plate. End the game on a blown call why doncha. Talk about umps deciding the game.

I was extremely pissed off when I saw that he had called it a strike. Matsui should have been standing on forst base with the game tied. f***ing piece of s***.

Matsui should have swung at a pitch that's close to the plate

It was clearly a ball. With a full count, bases loaded, and the tying run on third base in the bottom of the ninth with two outs, I do the same thing when it's clearly a ball. Why swing and take the chance of popping it up or even possibly missing when 99/100 times that pitch ties the game. Matsui did the right thin. The home plate umpire (I dont even remember who it was. Might have to go check on it) f***ed it up for him and for us Yankee fans.

at least foul it off.

Nah, when its CLEARLY a ball to the batter, why take the chance of swinging and hitting it fair or something. Not worth the chance. Maybe if the pitch is a little closer I agree with you guys, but not in this instance with the tying run on third and with two outs.

That was ball 4 no matter how you look at it. It was clearly ball 4. I wouldn't have swung either. Matsui was correct in what he did. The Yankees got robbed, no more, no less.
I though ball 3 was a better pitch than the last one...
