Just wanted to make sure you still feel this way about DiNardo.

Well i was out of town over the weekend and missed the beckett and dinardo starts (got to see sunday's game on DVR). With that said i would still rather have dinardo over wells. From what i heard (again didn't see it) dinardo got shelled, but that's one game in which he got shelled--and one game in which he did well. Wells has gotten shelled in every outing he's had up until now. Dinardo could do well, and could fall off-----but wells is falling apart, not getting any younger, and loves the yanks---so ya i would still rather have dinardo!

But lets not forget Wells injury played a role in his "shellings." He just came off the DL, give him a few starts first. Trust me, as all of us, Sox and Yanks fans in common, we know Wells is a damn good pitcher when he's healthy.

He will probably be back in time for the second Yankee series, he'll probably shut them down.

Couldn't disagree more. I really believe Wells will not be back, and I don't see it as that much of a loss to be honest.

I know wells enough to know that you never take him seriously. Also, once he faces adversity, he usually comes back and sticks it to ya. I wouldnt be surprised if he is pulling the, "I MIGHT RETIRE" bit just to get let go so he can return to where he truly wants to be. He has one more miracle in that arm, and I'd rather have him do it in NY....

Carl Everett doesn't believe dinosaurs ever walked the Earth, but that doesn't make it right.

Boomer's start this year is just like his start last year. He's been ineffective because he's been hurt. I see no reason to think he can't get into a groove by June like he did last year, and in June, July, August of '05, he was the closest thing the Sox had to a stopper. Yeah, he's fat tub of goo, but that is what makes him start off so slow.

EDIT: typo

i agree a 100 percent, however it dosent look like he's gonna be healthy enough to be effective , i guess time will tell

Along with Roger Clemens, Dontrelle Willis, and Miguel Cabrera correct??? Everyone really just wants to play for the Yankees. They all want to play well but only for the Yankees. There is so much history on that team and they are all loved....wait....

...sorry just had to go puke

do you remember his shpiel about wanting to be a yankee last yr and Cashman turning him down. It's obvious where he wants to be. Damon can go the other way, we all know he'd rather be a red sock....

I wonder if there is a performance clause in Wells contract. MAybe get something in return much like the astros were looking to do with bagwell and the white sox did with thomas. If i remember right, thomas had to take a paycut because of the money he was making and hi on field performance...just a thought

The fatman is on a performance (incentive) based contract. So he gets a base salary and then so much more $$$ for every start. So he wants to start as many games as possible so that he gets paid even if he isn't at 100%. So if they sox don't start him anymore then it won't cost them any extra!

Exactly. Because he knows he can get the money if he just starts, he would be willing to go out there knowing he would most likely lose the game, in return for more money. I think the Sox management knows that unless he's 100%, he's not pitching.
