 Friggin Tivo:rant: I couldn't catch the game live (started about 90 minutes late) and so in the middle of youk's ab, it stops. I figure they lost, but flip on NESN to be sure and get the good news. I am sure glad they won, but wish the Tivo would have gone an extra 4minutes!!!! Guess i have learned and will set it to record the postgame show as well! Great day either way:D

Nice win for the Sox today, although it seemed Francona was asleep at the wheel.

Bringing in Seanez in a tie game.

Not pinch hitting Cora late in the game.

Not bringing in Timlin in the 9th.

I thought the last one wasn't as bad as the first two, Foulke had looked good in past games and had earned a shot for two innings. He's improving, just not there yet.

Nice job my Youks and Loretta in the 9th.

I'm still pumped from the game. it was just so good, and even though overall the pitching wasn't great, i was happy that the offense stepped up to score some runs. Hopefully the sox keep the bats going for tommorow when they play the rays! (I'll be there) Great job loretta!!!!

Nice to see one of the new guys coming through in a biggggg way. Awesome win and let's hope that Clement can come through for us tommorow against the D-Rays.

Yeah, our keys to success have definately shifted with schilling doing great, and the sudden emergence of Papelbon as a lights out closer. I think the rest of our rotation (Wake, Clement, DiNardo) and our offense have got to stay formidable and not just depend on our stars to get the job done. Hopefully we won't get shut down by guys we haven't seen before, even though theyre usually average.

I'd take Dinardo over Wells every time right now. I do think when it warms up Wells will pitch better, but I liked what I saw out of Dinardo.

2 ER in 5 IP isn't terrible, and like others have said, I think he could have gone out forthe 6th.

Yeah, I think if needed he could pitch well, and maybe be an Arroyo but with more consistency, because his pitches are more simple and without any special delivery or w/e. he could turn into a 13+ win with low 4 ERA, whcih wouldnt be bad to have in the pen

Its more than likely DiNardo will be seeing more starts, I see Wells being out for around a month. DiNardo's next scheduled start will be this saturday, Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre.

By the way: love your new avatar  . I knew right off Loretta was going to make a good impact on his time up here in Boston. Now I'm not saying because it happened, but when he stepped up to bat... I was right on saying outloud "here comes his first HR".

Gabe Kapler, who is recovering from a torn Achilles' tendon, appears to be in line to resume playing in minor league games before the end of May.

Foulke isn't a two inning closer.

He was in 04!

He looked good today, and i don't fault tito for sending him out there for the 9th!

Kapler will be behind Willy Mo and Mohr on the depth chart when he comes back anyway.

I don't think he did 2 innings very often, even in 04.

No he didn't. However when he was called upon to do them he did them, and did them very well. All i am saying is that it's not abnormal for tito to ask him to do such; especially now that he's trying to get him work in "non-one run closing situations"

I don't either. In fact i think if Pena had more options; then they would option him and make kapler the back up/platoon guy with trot. Howver since that is not the case, i have no idea what the future holds for kapler when healthy!
