I know that they acquired him for more of means for next season. His main role will be hitting against lefties for Trot this year. But Tito might give Trot more AB's against lefties if he continues to hit like does, thats just my main concern that Wily Mo gets out of rythm sitting more on the bench than he told he was going to get.

I agree. I think Wily Mo will get the start against pretty all lefties, but if something like last night (where a righty starts and then a lefty comes in later) then Tito will just keep Trot in.

And there are plenty of LHP in this division.

TB - 3 - Kazmir, Hendrickson, Fossum

Tor - 2 - Chacin, Lilly

Bal - 2 - Bedard, Chen

NY - 1 - RJ

That's 8/20 rotation spots in this division, and the Sox play those teams 18/19 times a year. That's good for 74 games, 40% of which is ~30 games for Wily, and that is just against the division foes.

Willy Mo was not brought in to play 100+ games this year, he was used to platoon and develop under Jack, Manny, n Papi. Next year if Nixon doesn't do good and we let him walk, Wily will be there playin.

This is Trot's contract year, so in his mindset its "now or nothing". I do understand that this year Wily Mo's main role is to hit against lefties, as I have indicated in several of my posts in this thread. I was just saying that if Trot continues to hit well against lefties, Tito will then be torn between starting Trot or Wily against lefties.
