Thought I would make a thread apart from the other two which basically are just arguement (nothing wrong with that) but I wanted a thread to just bid the man farewell. No trade talk, no analysis just peace out.

It was an awesome 3, hes a good pitcher and a good guy. Wish he could have finished here, hope if he hits the market, in a perfect world, he would find a way on the roster but that is probably a sentimental pipe dream. The guy is a class act.

He was going to live right below me. :harhar: but now we have david wells right next to me.

Serioiusly? Thats pretty cool.

Good idea. We can talk about how Willy Mo might be more of an asset to the team all we want, but we should also reflect on Bronson's time here (...2004...) and remember him for the goofy corn rowed musician he is.

I'll for some reason always remember him for his performance in NY late in 2003. I can't remember if it was the playoffs or not, but it was like the first time I thought "where the hell did this (stuff) come from? And what the hell is his name?" It was like his 3rd appearance or so. I want to say it was in relief of Pedro...

Totally shut down the Yanks in the Stadium, with the crowd coming down, out of nowhere - and we won the game. Damn, I want to say it was in August.

Bronson, you were a classy guy who loved the city of Boston. I wont forget that that and thanks for the memories. I actually had went to 1 of his best starts of the season.

7 innings, 6 Hits, 1 Run, 2 Walks, 8 Ks

Oddly enough it came against the Cincinatti Reds, and 2 of his Ks came against Wily Mo

he was a classy guy and it was nice to see someone who really enjoyed playing in Boston so much but I believe it was for the betterment of the team cause he was pretty inconsistent

He's a good guy and him changing teams doesn't change that. I will always root for Bronson. He was one of my favorite players and always will be.

GB Bronson. I'll never forget how awesome he pitched vs the Angels in gm # 3 I believe of the 2004 ALDS. I'll also remember that 12K game he had vs the Mariners for some reason.

Hope to see him in a sox uni again before he retires. He deserves it.

Though in logic I agree with the traade, I think what the FO did to Bronson was terrible. I know it's a buisness but when a guy takes a hometown discount the team should honor it. At least in the first year. After that it's understandable but we signed him literally 3 months ago and then turn around and trade him.

Bronson was possibly My favorite player. I know the reasons he was moved, but he was class to me. Saw him pitch the 2004 ALDS game 3 and he had it working. 20 quality starts last year, hopefully we can replace that. I always like a pitcher that can get guys out without throwing 95mph fastballs.

Good Luck Bronson, you played your part in 04, and kept us in it in 05.

I always loved Bronson's delivery and when it was working, his breaking balls were absolutely sick

But I just can't fault the FO for this. Theo shouldn't have to hold onto a guy just cause he took a hometown discount at the expense of what he feels is best for the team. Bronson agreed to the contract by his own free will without guarantees that he wouldn't be traded

I never really got to liking this guy too much. He struggled too many times and really wasn't anything but an average pitcher. Loosing him is well worth it for a guy like Pena who is still young and hasn't even reached the prime of his career yet.

He lead the team in quality starts in the last two years.

Arroyo tagged in 1st Reds spring training start

Rotoworld: Bronson Arroyo was tagged for six runs -- five earned -- in five innings by the Twins in his Reds debut today.

Four of the runs came in the third, when Glenn Williams hit a three-run homer. Arroyo is probably going to start the second game of the season for the Reds, even though that will result in three straight lefties working at the bottom of the rotation.

Seems to be the trend with Bronson without Tek behind the plate!

Lets go Bronson. I want to see him win 20 games to show this was a mistake. Watch Pena become Jay peyton all over again.

What kind of crap is that? I can appreciate you liking Bronson and wishing him well in Cincinnati, but do honestly want the Sox, the team you root for, to come out losers on this deal? f*** that. I wish Bronson well, but I hope Pena mashes the s*** out of the ball and both teams get what they wanted out of this.

Yea seriously. I dont care if the Yankees traded away Derek Jeter, i'd still want the guy(s) we got in return to do great.

I am not saying I want Pena too suck, but a player as good as him having to platoon with another player isn't good. I want Bronson to do great so the sox regret trading him. In my opinion he was really turned on in that trade. Yes I know "he should have asked for a no trade clause" and "he is going to suck there anyway" but we hater Johnny Damon for not signing for a hometown discount and signing with the Yanks and Bronson did sign for a hometown discount and they didn't respect that and sent him away.

I bet he misses the almighty Jason Varitek.

'Tek is widely regarded as very good at handling the staff and has a rep for calling a very good game. I'm sure you know that just about every pitcher he's worked with has praised him for this and it can affect pitcher performance, but you just had to take that cheap-shot didn't you? No surprises there, Mr. I'm-just-here-to-talk-baseball.

Well said. I want Bronson to do great, nothing but the best. With that said I hope Pena turns into another Tizzle:D

Nice cheap shot:rolleyes: Look back through ST; Bronson was getting hit hard until Tek came back from the WBC---then he threw shut-out ball!

I could be wrong, but i believe it is team policy to not allow "no-trade policy's" in contracts! If they could i am sure that bronson would have asked for one, he will be missed though!

Jay Payton was amazing. He was just playing behind Johnny, Manny, and Trot. And he was supposably an assclown in the clubhouse.
