That's so retarded. Does having facial hair affect the way a team plays?

haha I hope not. I think its about treating the job more professionally. While I htink it would work with a veteran club, I'm not sure how the youngsters on the Marlins would take it. Then again, with the year that they're looking at, I'm not sure they have much of a choice. I don't think anyone will be too pleased to listen to them complaining about their facial hair when they could wind up challenging the Mets record for losses.

Well, good thing we got Beckett and Lowell out of there so they don't have to shave. I don't think they'll challenge the '62 Mets, they might actually surprise some people. They've still got the D-Train and Cabrera, and a lot of youngsters that could make an impact.

You got a good point there, but we've seen what crappy offenses can do to pithcers with terrific ERAs (Clemens '05). As for Miguel, its gonna be tough for him to get his numbers this year IMO. He has no tablesetters and no protection.

True about the tablesetters, but Mike Jacobs I think will be outstanding even in a pitcher's park and should put up more homers than Carlos Delgado, dumb trade by the Mets.

I agree

I like what Joey G is doing here and I would definately be satisfied with him as the next Yankees manager. I always liked the facial hair policy, I would rather have a nice looking, clean cut, presentable player representing my team (I dont know, maybe how I was raised or something, but thats just how I feel). Even though sometimes players like Munson and Mattingly are exceptions. However, I still like the policy.

He's pimping for Torre's job when he gets fired next year.....

Who are you saying is getting fired? Torre or Girardi?

"Baseball is a passion of mine. You take a month off, and then you miss it. I find myself watching the Caribbean World Series on TV, and there probably aren't a ton of people doing that. But I love the game.

I'm with ya Joe...I thought I was the only person alive who watched the Serie Del Caribe last night instead of the SuperBowl.

Also good to know Joey G still watches YES on a regular basis :D

Oh, I thought you were talking about northern grandparents who move to Florida.

lol haha

..funny, even though it was a shot at the Yanks.

I don't mind that the Yanks have the no facial hair policy, since they have had since Steinny bought the team. I don't like when ex-Yankees decide that is the way a team should be and instill that on their own team (Like Willie Randolph with the Mets, and Girardi with the Marlins).

Willie didnt do that with the mets.

Yes he did, why do you think Piazza looked so retarded this past year without the goat?

Piazza changes his facial hair every year. If it was an issue then why is he still rocking the clean shaven face? He was clean shaven at his Press COnference in SD today.

Also, Willie has a mustache.

Not that this issue is a big deal, but read it and weep my friend. (It's about the 2nd to last paragraph)
