I still hope they find a compitent #2 back. It´s good to have one to lessen the load on the #1 guy.

Maroney is a power guy that can bust it out side or up the middle, what they need out of there #2 is a guy thats fast and hard to catchin the open field, Maroney should beable to handle everything at the goaline.

I still think they need to utilize faulk a little more. I liked what the saints had with McCallister and Bush when you had a little thunder and a little lightning. Out of the backfield, LBs or typically safeties cover the RB. Faulk would burn either. A 2 back set with a fake to Moroney and a pass out into the flats or down the field to Faulk could work 50-100 times a season.

agreed, he was money in the Chargers game, though I always have the feeling he'll fumble the ball whenever he gets it. I'm more than comfortable giving Maroney a majority of the snaps next year.

they need some playmakers on both sides of the ball

samuel outscored our wideouts down the stretch if i recall

the safety net of the ancient troy brown i think has ended

ben watson, incredibly gifted as he is,didnt develop as i hoped he would

maroney faded late in the season after flashes of brilliance

dillon is done

faulk fumbles

patrick pass and heath evans couldnt get 100 yds alone on the field

the good news is we got the best at qb,give him the weapons he deserves

on defense

we have the best front in the game, that makes up for many weaknesses but not all of them

our dbackfield was decimated by the end of the colts game and the lbax aged a lifetime in 1 half of football

an assasin at safety some speed at lb and some depth at corner and we should be ok for next year

we were 1 1st down away from icing that game my friends

thats fuking painful to swallow till august

Jamal Lewis and Joey Porter have been cut loose.

The Pats are reportedly interested in dealing for Randy Moss.

I would like them all, if at all possible. Especially Porter with an aging linebacking core, and he's still pretty damn good.

Jamal Lewis and Maroney would make a nice backfield. Lewis is a big bruiser with good speed and Maroney would compliment him well.

The Pats have a lot of cap room, so hopefully they use it this year

dre bly to the broncs??

i hate to think that anything has changed in bbs mind outside of filling the holes that exist

ive seen many a head coach change sails after disappointment occurs

don shula comes to mind

desperate for a title after so much early success he compromised his own principles and brought undesirables to miami(chucl muncie pete johnson) that wouldnt have gotten a july look from him in the years prior

winning is so important to these guys

if you cut coach bcheck would he bleed red or would he bleed xs and os??

Well, Corey Dillon wasn't exactly a Belichick guy either, but it worked out pretty well.

I know Randy Moss is a bigger project than Dillon, but hey, you can't tell me that Moss wouldn't be "happy" in New England. He'd be winning and getting a lot of attention, especially with Brady throwing the ball. I would welcome him here in an instant. Rooting for the name on the front of the jersey still applies in football, even if the name is much smaller, lol.

agreed as far as the names go

however

dillon was with cinic,a perrenial 12 loss team

moss had a chance with culpepper to win playoff games

this ********** walked off the field with time on the clock at the end of game

he isnt corey dillon

hes randy moss and hes been a cancer only surpassed by all world ********** t/owens

the difference being owens still plays hard

moss hasnt played hard as of yet this decade

Eventually Moss will have to shut up and play or not play at all, hes getting up there in age and is on the wrong side of his prime. I think he will take that into consideration if he comes to NE. He can't bitch about the QB, because the QB has won 3 SB's, and if there is any coach in the league that might beable to get threw to Moss it is probably Bill.

Foxsports.com in there mock draft(updated since the combine) have the Pats taking Meacham the WR from Tenn. in the first round, I cant remeber who they had them take in there 2nd 1st round pick.

I still wish the trade about 4 or 5 picks to Oakland so they could draft C. Johnson. Dude is going to be a monster, and could be our #1 WR for years to come.

Id trade both 1st rounders this year, and maybe another late round pick, and a couple late rounders in next years draft for him. Players like Johnson come around once in a blue moon. But thats just me....

Posted

who is this johnson guy in oakland??'

there offense was very... i dunno ""offensive"" last year

i never heard of him

is it chad johnson from cinci you refer to?

Posted

ya

ive seen him the past couple of years against bc and in other acc events\

hes a big man....

very big very quick great hands

he's projected anywhere from 1st to 8th but i dont think he'll be there after 5

it would be unusual for us to trade up and draft a wide out but due to last years fiasco anything is possible

As nice as Calvin Johnson would be, it would take too much to get him. Trade the first round pick they got from Seattle to Oakland for Moss. Draft defense. Stay the hell away from Darrell Jackson - he's a headcase (I know, I know, so is Moss, but Moss is just an *******. Bill and Brady can whip him into shape, and winning will help. Jackson has played on a good team (although I hate the Seahawks and think they are increadibly overrated) but he's still a headcase). If they can pick up Moss, then their defensive secondary is their biggest weakness - outside of Samuel they really don't have anyone. Harrison is getting too banged up - it seems like he misses significant chunks of time every year now. Ellis Hobbs? Please. Trade for a deep threat wideout, and draft d.

Calvin Johnson from Georgia Tech. Kid's going to be an animal.

Correct, thats who I was reffering too. Right now with him not even playing a game yet, I might take him over any WR in the league. He runs a 4.3 40, hes like 6'5" and 240 pounds, and the couldn't even test his vertical because the thing they use to test it only goes to 45 inches and he touched the top of it and said he could go more, but they couldn't find anything to use LOL He is the best player in the Draft but will most likely fall to Tampa because the other three teams are going a different way.

If Oakland doesn't sign a QB then the first 4 picks will look like this,

1. OAK- QB Jamrcus Russell( I think he will be a bust)

2. DET- OL Joe Thomas(Solid pick will anchor the line for many yrs)

3. CLE- RB Adrian Peterson

4. TB- Calvin Johnson

The Pats have also met with veteran tight end Kyle Brady who nowadays is best known for his blocking. Also meeting with running back Sammy Morris

Other news:

Offensive lineman Billy Yates has resigned to 3 years $2.1 million

2005 mid-season pickup Heath Evans resigned to a 2 year deal

Not mentioned on this article, but coming from Weei that the Pats are trying to resign Randall Gay to a 2 year deal

It also mentions that they have pretty much signed Adalius Thomas, the LB from Baltimore.

Thats a pretty good sign if they do indeed hammer out the deal, he was a monster last yr, He would probably be a household name if he hadn't been in Ray Lewis's shadow for his hole career. We should get a few decent years out of him.

This was a no brainer :) You cant let Samuel go while the secondary is still in rebuilding mode. And Graham' date=' eh his best use for the Patriots was blocking... and the Pats can easily find someone who can do just as good a job. Graham will probably end up signing with a team like the Broncos. [/b']The Pats entering the 2007 season could have a nice toght end duo of Benjamin Watson/David Thomas

per rotoworld

The Broncos and Daniel Graham have agreed to terms on a five-year, $30 million contract, with $15 million guaranteed.

Of course Graham doesn't deserve a better deal than Antonio Gates and Todd Heap, but he is a perfect fit in Denver. The Broncos will use Graham's excellent blocking to bolster their running game and red zone offense. He has improved as a pass-catcher and should see his offensive numbers rise. Since Tony Scheffler is likely to get more targets, don't project Graham as a fantasy starter.

There ya go "See Red"

5 years/$30 million, $15 million gauranteed for a guy who's best skill is blocking. Other than that he has OK hands for a receiver, but the big question is his health. But good for him to sign with his hometown team

So far we have signed Thomas, Welker, Morris, Brady, and Stallworth. Thats pretty good if you ask me, it looks like they will be a much improved team next season.

They will miss Graham, but they have Watson and Thomas if I am correct. Brady is a bust, I hate that guy (Kyle). Love the Thomas and Welker signings. Gives the pats two new weapons to utilize. The Stallworth signing will look really nice if he isnt suspended for PEDs. He stretches the field better than anyone. Morris is an insurance policy on Moroney. Overall, the pats went from thin to a pretty deep team in a week. They are gonna be tough.

Stallworth? As in, Donte Stallworth? When was that signing announced...?

I heard he came to Foxboro, and left without a contract despite being offered six years and $32 million.

Wide receiver Donte Stallworth came and went from Foxboro yesterday without a signed contract, which is a departure from the way the Patriots [team stats] have done business so far this dizzying free agency season.

Stallworth stands as the only player to visit Gillette Stadium and leave without a deal. That doesn’t mean the free agent receiver is off the Pats’ radar, however.

There were various reports last night that the Pats had made a hard-to-believe, six-year, $32 million offer to Stallworth.

Sources said Stallworth would make trips to Tennessee and Miami the next few days, and then choose between the various offers.

There were other reports that Stallworth actually agreed to a deal, but those were apparently false alarms.

Stallworth reportedly is in the NFL’s substance abuse program, which means he could be subjected to a suspension with another violation. As a result, the Pats would likely protect themselves with a contract that would hold back money if Stallworth ran afoul of the program again.

There were also reports that Stallworth would accept a one-year, incentive-laden deal with an eye toward having a big year and going for the big free agent strike next year. Those rumblings didn’t seem to jibe with the offer purportedly set forth by the Pats.

Stallworth’s agent are Drew Rosenhaus and his brother, Jason. While the pair largely avoided comment on Stallworth’s status, such confusion is not unusual with Rosenhaus clients.

Good call. I could go either way on the signing. Cutler had been developing good chemistry with Scheffler, but Graham is the better player of the two anyway. I'd rather sign somebody like Kerney.

edit: nevermind the last part, I wasn't aware that the Seahawks had already snagged Kerney.

Kyle Brady was primarily picked up for what his best skill is... blocking. Good depth signing to compensate for the loss of Graham

The Texans cut David Carr and Domanick Williams (formerly Domanick Davis) today. If the Pats hadn't signed Sammy Morris I would have loved to have Domanick Williams in the backfield with Maroney. What was his problem last year, by the way? Was it injury or...?

Or should I be wary of wanting to add Williams?

EDIT: Nevermind. Just found out that Williams needs knee surgery and his career is in jeopardy. Nevermind.
