I saw this on another thread/forum:

Here's are the rules:

All predictions should be posted here by cutting and pasting both the question and the answer into your response. All entries must be in by opening day, at which point a Bartender will hopefully lock the thread and move it for safe keeping. Scoring is listed below. On questions with a negative scoring component, you can not score below zero on the answer (in other words, the question canââ????¬â?????t deduct from your larger total)

Results will be tabulated after the 2006 MVPs are announced

OKAY, now you have the Cardinals beating the Padres in the NLDS and then you have the Pads losing the NLCS. What next?

How could either of you have come up with predictions in under 15 mins? Obviously both of you are completely talking out of your asses, and apparently SoxFan#1 doesn't understand the playoff system.

I agree with almost all your predictions, ktf1229, except eight 20 game winners? When was the last time that happened?

Yeah, I may have gotten a bit generous there...but I say at least 5 of them will deliver.

Posted
OK well I guess thats understandable.

But Rivernator how did you come up with your predictions in 6 minutes?

Well, I think most of the spots are easy.

AL

For the east, the yankee lineup, plus their pen and underrated staff will have them coast to victory in the AL East. The lineup will be strong enough to mash pathetic teams and the total package should have them play .500+ ball against the good teams, which is a good recipe for playoff clinching. The Jays will be enough of a disturbance to the red sox that they will not win the wild card, as I think the sox offense has taken a small step back andd will no longer be able to completely put teams away on a regular basis. Also, questions about the ace of the sox and their closer makes predicting them very hard. The relatively pathetic central will put 2 teams in and I seriously think that the Guardians will give the one yr wonder white sox a run for their money. Eventually, the white sox will win the wild card due to the relative putrid-ness of KC and detroit, but I think the Guardians will win the central. As for the west, the angels look worse this yr than last and the A's significantly improved. Also, seattle and texas should create enough interference to keep an ALW team from winning the wild card.

For the NL, I just winged it and I really dont give 2 shits about the NL....

ha! not to put a damper on things but I wish I could bet my mortgage and every dime I have that the mutts no way win the world series, or even make the playoffs...
